I walked to my locker after class where I saw Edward waiting. "Hey" I said as I opened it and placed my books inside. "Hi" Edward replied, a small smirk on his face. I shut my locker and turned to Edward. "Ready for lunch?" I asked and he nodded before we made our way to the cafeteria. We entered and I made my way over to the food.
I grabbed a tray and walked over to the buffet and grabbed a chicken and salad burger, a fruit cup and a soda before Edward grabbed the tray from my hands. "Edward, I'm more then capable of carrying the tray" I said as I went to reach for it only for him to pull it away from me. "I know. I just want to carry it for you" said Edward and I shook my head.
"Do you think it'll earn you brownie points or something with me?" I questioned and he shrugged. "I'll do whatever it takes to make you forgive me Serena. I'll move mountains, battle lions and tigers, walk through fire. Anything that will make you happy" said Edward and I sighed as I turned to him.
"Seeing you in pain doesn't make me happy Edward. Have you ever heard the saying, you made your bed now you need to lay in it? Well, that's what you need to do. Like I said, I don't hate you nor am I mad at you. I just...wanna teach you a lesson" I said and he chuckled. "Serena, to be hurt by you, is an honour to me" said Edward and I shook my head.
"Always find a way to be poetic huh" I said as we made our way over to our friends. "Why is this so damn hard?!" Jessica snapped as she looked down at a paper that lay in front of her. Edward pulled out my chair and I thanked him before taking a seat as he placed my tray down in front of me.
"What's she complaining about this time?" I whispered to Angela. "Her speech" Angela replied and I let out a drawn 'oh' as I nodded. Edward sat back in his seat as he placed one arm around the back of my chair. Bella and Christopher walked over to the table, Bella letting out a 'hey'. "Hey" everyone chimed from around the table.
"Just in time. Alright check it out" said Mike as he grabbed Jess's pencil and paper. "My fellow students right?" Mike said as he looked at everyone for confirmation. "Good" Eric spoke up. "Cute" Jess replied sarcastically. "We are the future. Anything is possible if you just believe" Mike said and I scoffed.
"Nice" Angela said from beside me and I smirked. "Perfect. And you got yourself a speech" Mike replied as he threw Jess's notepad back to her. "No this will be my speech when I want everyone to throw diploma's at my head. So thank you" said Jess as she threw a ball of paper at Mike's head and I giggled.
"Wow Mike. That speech so cheesy that I think I need some crackers to go with it" I joked and everyone chuckled. "You gotta embrace the cliches Jess" said Mike with a smug look on his face. "Yeah they're like the bread and butter of all valedictorians" Eric said as he turned to her. "And that is why you're not valedictorian" Angela sassed causing everyone to chuckle.
"Jess doesn't need cliches. This speech is going to be epic" Bella said and I nodded. "Epic? It'll change lives" Jess replied confidently. Alice and Jasper appeared taking a seat at the table, a big smile on Alice's face. "I've decided to throw a party" She said happily and I arched my eyebrow as I stared at her.
"After all, how many times are we going to graduate high school?" Jasper said causing Christopher and Edward to chuckle. "A party? At you place?" said Angela. "I've never seen your house" Jess said as she turned to them. "No ones ever seen their house" Eric said. "Another party Alice?" Edward questioned as he turned to his sister. "It'll be fun" Alice argued.
"That's what you said last time Alice" I replied and memories of her party flashed through my mind. Alice's bright smile turned to a ground before I watched as her eyes cloud over and she sat back in her seat zoned out. "Hey Angela?" Bella said grabbing Angela's attention. "Do you need some help with those?" Bella asked referring to her papers distracting everyone's attention away from Alice.
Alice came out of her vision and turned to Jasper, a look of concern on her face.
"So what was Alice's vision about? She looked pretty concerned" I said to Edward as he drove me home. "Nothing. Just the next online sale selling out" said Edward and I scrunched my eyebrows as I turned to him. "Edward, I may be human but I'm not stupid ok? I know you're lying to me" I said as I looked at him. "Honestly Serena. It wasn't anything important" said Edward.
"If it's not that important then why won't you tell me?" I pressed. "Because it's nothing you need to worry about" Edward replied stubbornly and I huffed as I looked out the window. "You know this isn't helping you set things right with me right?" I said and he chuckled. "Don't get all prissy Serena. I swear it's not big deal. It's just a family matter that's confidential that's all" said Edward and I gave a nod.
We arrived at my house where I saw my mom out the front reading. I grabbed my bag and climbed out of the car. "Hi bebita. How was school?" said my mom as she looked up at me. "Uh good I guess" I replied as I approached her. "I have something I wanted to discuss with you" said my mom as she stood up. "Shoot" I replied.
"Sooo I was thinking we could take a long weekend trip somewhere" said my mom and I looked at her suspiciously. "Where did this come from?" I asked and she shrugged. "You've been stressed out lately so I thought we could go somewhere and do something fun" said my mom and I shrugged. "Uh sure I guess" I replied and she smiled. "Great! I've booked us into a lodge in Alaska so we can go skiing, mountain climbing, have some fun mother daughter time" said my mom and I smiled.
"Sounds fun. When do we leave?" I asked. "Tomorrow. So we'll be gone Friday, Saturday, and Sunday before coming back Sunday night" said my mom and I nodded. "I guess I should go and pack" I said and she nodded. "I'll see you when I get back" I said as I turned to Edward and he smiled as he nodded. "Have fun" said Edward and I wrapped my arms around him briefly before pulling away.
