Odeya Rush as Colette Cullen
Joshua Bassett as Masen Cullen~ 7 years later ~
Serena's P.O.VI hummed to myself as I walked down the hallway before knocking on Colette's door. I pushed it open to see her sitting on her bed, on the phone with a book in front of her. "Time's up" I said as she looked up at me. "I gotta go Jake...ok I'll speak to you tomorrow...ok bye" said Collette before she hung up her phone and held it out to me. "Thank you" I said as I took it before sliding it into my pocket.
"I still don't see why I have to give you my phone and also, it's not fair that Masen gets to go out and see Leah and I can't go and see Jake" said Colette as she sat up and I smirked as I crossed my arms. "Well Masen wasn't the one who snuck out to go to a concert in Seattle and get caught by his abuela now was he?" I shot back and Colette rolled her eyes as she smiled. "I was simply having fun mom" she replied.
"Well having fun has consequences and until you dad and I can trust you not to do that again, this is the punishment. Jake can come over and study with you though" I replied as I sat on the end of her bed. "Study with me in the living room whilst you and dad sit in the kitchen within earshot" Colette said and I chuckled. "Again, you made your bed so you need to lay in it" I said.
"Whatcha looking at?" I asked as I saw her flick the page of what looked to be an album. "Just one of your old photo albums" said Collette and I moved beside her as I looked at the photos. "It's so strange seeing you as a human. You look so different" she said as she looked at a photo of me at my graduation causing me to smile. "Do I? I don't really see a difference other than my eyes" I said and Colette turned to me.
"Yeah you do. Your skin is a little paler, your eyes obviously and your features are different. Your face is a little slimmer and more defined" said Colette as she pointed at the photo and I let out a laugh. "Ok I see your point" I replied before she turned the page to reveal a photo of Edward and I at the formal. "Mom, how did you know you were in love with dad?" Colette asked.
I smiled as I looked down at my wedding rings before looking back up. "I knew I was in love with your dad when...the thought of life without him became unfathomable. When simple things like waking up, sleeping, eating were easier with him there then when he wasn't. That's when I knew I loved him" I said as I looked at Colette and she smiled.
"I hope that Jake and I's relationship can be like yours and dads. Pure, genuine love. That's what I see when I see you two look at each other. It's something I've dreamt of finding ever since I was younger" said Colette as she turned to page to Edward and I's wedding photo. "I think you've found that in Jake" I replied as I wrapped an around around her shoulder.
"So do I" Colette whispered as she looked at the photo booth photos of her and Jake that they took in Seattle on her birthday. After a few more minutes, I left Colette's room and as I passed Masen's, I could hear him playing on his keyboard. I slowly opened the door where I saw Masen playing, his eyes closed as he was lost in his passion and I smiled.
As he finished his piece, I clapped causing him to open his eyes. "Oh hey mom" He said as I stepped into his room. "That sounds beautiful Masen. Did you write that?" I asked in amazement as I walked over and he gave a small smile as he nodded. "It's called Turning Pages. I...wrote it for Leah for our anniversary" said Masen as his cheeks turned a light pink.
"It is an absolutely stunning piece and I think she will absolutely love it" I said and he smiled. "Didn't dad write you a song?" He asked as he looked up at me from his seat and I nodded. "Yes he did. In fact he wrote me two. One was called Serena's Lullaby which he wrote the year we met and the other was called A Thousand Years which was the song we had a first dance to at our wedding. He surprised me with that one on our wedding night and I think it's my favourite out of the two" I replied.
"I hope Leah loves it" said Masen and I placed my hand on his shoulder. "She will, trust me" I replied and he smiled. "You are just as talented as your dad on the piano. Anyone who doesn't love your music is crazy" I said and he chuckled. "I think you may be better then me" said Edward and we turned to see him leaning on the doorframe, his arms crossed.
"Ok that's a bit far fetched dad. You have decades on me and I'm not even a decade old yet" said Masen causing us to laugh. "Don't underestimate your talent. You picked up the piano quicker then I ever did" Edward replied. "Learned from the best" said Masen. "I was just at Carlisle's. Your uncle Emmett is wondering if you are still up for watching the game tomorrow. He wants to know how much to bet" said Edward and Masen smirked.
"Oh we are so on and my team is going to win for sure" said Masen and I chuckled. "I have left you around your uncles too much" I said as I shook my head. "What about Colette's shopping habit?" Masen shot back. "Don't remind me. She's trying to get me to clean out my closet this week so she can stock it with the new items released from Prada and Versace" I replied as I rolled my eyes.
"Have fun with that mom" said Masen as I walked to his door. "Oh I will. Goodnight Mase, love you" I said as I placed my hand on his door. "Love you too mom" he replied before I pulled the door shut. I walked with Edward to the living room and sat on the couch beside him. "Colette's still annoyed that she's being punished for sneaking out last week" I said as Edward wrapped his arm around my shoulders pulling me into him letting out a chuckle.
"I'm not gonna lie, I was pretty proud of her for having the balls to sneak out in the first place" I said and Edward laughed. "Well the apple doesn't fall far from the tree does it?" He replied. "Hey I never snuck out to go to a concert" I replied. "No you just snuck away from Alice and Jasper to go to a ballet studio where there was a sadistic vampire waiting for you" Edward replied.
"Ok well at least she hasn't done that yet" I said as I laughed. Edward and I sat for a few minutes in a comfortable silence watching the fire. "You know, sometimes I feel like pinching myself when I think of everything we have. I still feel a sense of awe at the fact that we're living the life we always dreamt of together. I know it's been 7 years now but it still feels surreal" I said as I laid my head on Edward's chest.
I felt him give my side a squeeze as he kissed the top of my head. "I feel that too. Our happy ending isn't going away anytime soon, I'll make sure of that" said Edward and I looked up at him. "I love you" I said and he smiled softly. "I love you more" He replied before leaning down and pecking my lips.
