I heard the thunder rumble in the distance as I got ready for the Cullen's baseball game. I slipped on my navy blue long sleeve before throwing on the jersey Alice had given me. I walked to my closet and grabbed out my converse before slipping them on along with a white beanie. I grabbed some white gloves also before I heard a knock at the front door.
I heard it open as my mom greet Edward. I hastily left my room and walked downstairs where I saw Edward in a blue puffer jacket. "Hey" I said as I walked over to the two of them. "You're dressed very sporty" said my mom as she looked at me. "Serena is going to come and play baseball with my family and I. We won't be gone long" said Edward as he wrapped his arm around my waist.
"Hope you guys have fun" said my mom before Edward and I left. We walked out to the silver Jeep waiting in my driveway. I climbed into the passenger seat and saw Bella sitting in the back seat with Christopher. "Hey Bella, Christopher" I said as I buckled my seatbelt. "Hey Serena" she replied.
"Hello" Christopher said as Edward drove off. We drove for 20 minutes through the woods and arrived at a field where I saw the rest of the Cullen family dress in baseball gear. Edward, Bella, Christopher and I climbed out of the jeep. We all made our way to the rest of the family and Esme turned to us with a warm smile.
"Serena! Bella! I'm glad you guys came. We need umpires" she said as she approached the both of us. "She thinks we cheat" said Emmett as the three of us walked past him. "Oh I know you cheat" Esme shot back and I giggled. "Call em as you see em girls" she encouraged. "Ok" Bella replied sheepishly.
Edward walked out onto the field a few feet away from Emmett as Rosalie walked up to bat. A big flash of lightening filled the air accompanied by the loud booming thunder. "It's time" Alice called from mid field. Rosalie gave a nod before Alice raised her arm and threw the ball so fast didn't even see it. A loud crack sounded as Rosalie hit the ball.
"Holy crap! Now I see why you need the thunder" I said as I turned to Esme and she laughed. The ball disappeared into the trees as everyone in the feel turned to the direction. "That's gotta be a home run right?" Bella said as Edward sprinted after it. "Edward's very fast" Esme replied. Within seconds the ball came flying out of the woods and Esme caught it effortlessly.
She held it down to home base just as Rosalie slid onto it. "Sorry, you're out" I said as I looked at the dark scowl forming on her face. "OUT! WOOO!" Emmett hollered from the field. Rosalie's face contorted into anger as she got up. "Babe come on it's just a game" said Emmett as she walked past Bella and I. Carlisle walked up next before Alice threw the ball.
He whacked it hard with the bat before sprinting off to first base so fast he was a blur. I watched as Emmett and Edward leapt into the air as they attempted to catch the ball only to smash into each other and land on the ground causing me to laugh. Carlisle slid to home base as he looked up at the three of us. "You're safe" said Bella and Carlisle smirked as he stood up.
