I hummed to the Paramore song that played through my iPod as I cleaned my room when my phone began to ring. I paused my music before grabbing my phone to see it was Alice. "Hey Alice" I said as I ran a hand through my hair. "You're going to love me for the news I'm about to tell you" said Alice, the excitement lacing her voice.
"What is it?" I asked in curiosity. "So our whole family is going hunting tonight to make sure we're at our full strength for the battle buuut Edward happened to go hunting last night which means you get to have the whole night alone with him" said Alice. "Really?" I asked. "Yep. I figured you two haven't had some alone time in a while. Bella and Chris will be there too" Alice said and I smiled.
"Thanks Alice" I replied before we hung up. I exited my room and walked downstairs where I saw my mom and Carlos watching TV. "Hey mom, I'm gonna spend the night at the Cullen's tonight" I said and she muted the TV before turning to me. "Oh ok. Will they all be there?" said my mom and I shook my head.
"Uh not they're all hunting. It'll just be Edward, Chris, Bella and I" I replied and she arched her eyebrow. "Oh my God mom nothing is going to happen if that's what you're thinking" I replied and she laughed. "Ok ok. Have fun" said my mom before I walked upstairs to pack a bag. I grabbed my duffel bag from my closet and began to pack.
Later that night I arrived at the Cullen's house and climbed out of my car. I approached the front door and saw Edward making his way down the stairs. He pulled the door opened and I smiled as I stepped into the house. "Hi" I said as I stepped into the house. "All packed for tomorrow?" said Edward as we walked up the stairs and I nodded.
"I hope I packed enough to keep me warm" I replied. As I made it up the stairs to Edwards room, a look of surprise crossed my face as I saw the kind size bed in his room. "You got a bed? I thought vampires don't sleep?" I asked. "I thought you might need one to sleep in" said Edward and I smiled as I placed the bag down.
"Edward, you didn't need to go to all this trouble. Your couch or an air mattress would've been fine" I said as I sat down on the comfortable bed. "This too much?" Edward asked and I shook my head. "I love it" I replied before standing up and walking over to Edward. I wrapped my arms around his neck and pressed my lips to his before pulling away.
We walked over to the bed and I took my shoes off before sitting on the duvet. "I can't believe the battle is in two days" I said as I shook my head. "Do not stress my love. The battle will be over before you know it and everything will go back to normal" said Edward. "But what if something goes wrong?" I said as I turned to him.
"Nothing will go wrong my love. Everyone will be fine" Edward said as he caressed my cheek and I leaned into his touch. "I don't know what I did right to find you Edward" I whispered as I looked into his topaz eyes. "Edward, I have a really really awkward thing I want to talk to you about" I said as I sat up and Edward looked at me in confusion.
"What is it?" he asked. "Before you change me, I want to experience something while I'm still human because it may not be the same once I'm changed. I want my first time to be with you while I'm still human" I said and gave a small sigh. "Serena, doing that could put your life in danger" said Edward.
"We can be careful Edward. I know you won't hurt me. I trust you" I said as I placed my hand on his. "Please do this for me. This is the one thing I want" I said and Edward sighed as he looked at me. "Why are you so stubborn?" he asked. "Because I'm a lady who knows what she wants" I replied.
"Can this wait until we're married at least?" said Edward. "Ok" I replied as I tucked a strand of my hair behind my ear. "It's the one rule I want to leave unbroken"That's one tings It might be too late for my soul but I will protect yours. I know that's not the modern notion-" said Edward as he looked at me. "Kind of really old fashioned but I'll respect your wishes" I said.
"I'm from a different era. Things were a lot less complicated. And if I had met you back then, I would've courted you. We'd have taken chaperoned strolls and ice tea on the porch" said Edward and I smiled as I ran my thumb over his knuckles. Edward stood up from the bed and I looked at him as I stood up too. "I may have stolen a kiss or two" Edward continued.
"But only after asking your fathers permission, I would have got down on one knee...and I would have presented you with a ring"said Edward as he got down on one knee and my eyes widened in shock. Edward pulled out a black box before grabbing my hand and gently placing the box in it as I looked at the stunning ring.

"Oh my god" I breathed at I looked at Edward with glassy eyes. "This was my mothers. Serena Fernandez-Forge, I promise to love you every moment forever. Would you do me the extraordinary honour of marrying me?" said Edward. "Yes! Of course I will!" I exclaimed as I nodded my head. A huge grin found its way onto Edwards face as he wrapped his arms around me lifting me off the ground as he swirled us around.
Edward placed me down and I cupped his face in my hands before pressing me lips to his. We pulled away and Edward gently grabbed my left ring finger and slid the ring onto it. I lifted my hand up as I admired the unique ring and looked at Edward as tears left my eyes. "I love you so much" I said. "I love you more" Edward replied before pressing his lips to mine once more.
