The sound of the birds from the jungle chirping woke me up. I stretched before opening my eyes and rolling over only to see the bed empty. "Edward?" I said as I sat up and looked around the bedroom. I rolled out of bed and walked over to my suitcase. I changed into a pair of bike shorts and white tank top.
I threw my hair into a messy bun before walking out of the bedroom. "Edward?" I called and walked into the kitchen. A white note on the counter caught my attention and I picked it up.
I've gone to the mainland
to hunt, be back before you wake.

I gave a small smile as I looked at the ocean. "You're running late Mr Cullen" I said to myself before walking to the fridge. I pulled it open and pursed my lips as I looked for something to eat. I grabbed out some fresh strawberries and some yogurt. I put a couple of scoops of yogurt into the bowl before I cut up the strawberries and put them in as well.
I pulled the stool around and began eating the yogurt as I moaned in delight. After a little bit I felt the nausea build in my stomach as I looked down at the bowl and pushed it away. I spat my mouthful into the bin before pouring a glass of water and taking slow sips. I let out a sigh before I let out a gag. I dropped the glass and sprinted to the ensuite in our bathroom.
I collapsed to my knees as I emptied my stomach into the toilet. I threw up once more as I shakily held the rim of the toilet. "Serena?" I heard Edward say and turned to see him enter the bathroom. "Hey" I said as I closed the toilet lid and sat on it. "You ok?" he asked as he squatted in front of me. "Yeah. I think so. Must've been the yogurt. It may have been expired" I said.
"Maybe" he said as he gently caressed my thighs. "Would you mind passing me my bag? I think I saw some Pepto-Bismol in there" I said as I pointed to it and Edward nodded. He reached up and passed me my bag and I reached down grabbing the pink bottle before taking a sip. I placed the bottle back into my toiletries bag before standing up.
"You ok now?" he asked and I nodded before flushing the toilet. "My period is on its way I think. When it's that time, I get nauseas and all that good stuff. Wanna take a walk? Fresh air might help" I said and Edward nodded. "Sure" he replied and I smiled. "Let me just slip some shorts on" I said before walking over to my suitcase.
I grabbed a pair of blue denim shorts and slipped of my bike shorts. I pulled the denim shorts on and scrunched my eyebrows as I struggled to button them up. "What the hell?" I muttered as I continued trying to do up the button. "What is it?" said Edward and I turned to look at him. "These shorts won't do up. I wore them like two days ago and they fit perfectly fine" I said as I chuckled.
I walked into the bathroom and grabbed my black pair that lay on the tiled floor. I slipped the blue ones off and slid the black pair on. "Seriously?!" I said as I couldn't button them up either. "I couldn't have gained 3 pounds in two days" I said as I turned to Edward who had a look of shock on his face as he stood frozen in his spot, his eyes locked on my stomach.
I scrunched my eyebrows before I turned to the mirror. I pulled my shorts down slightly and looked at my stomach. "You don't think I could...there's no way-" I said as my heart rate began picking up. "There's no way" I whispered as I shook my head and covered my mouth. I gasped as I felt a movement and my hands flew to my abdomen.
"Edward I'm scared" I whimpered as I looked at him. He remained frozen when his phone began to ring. I walked over to him and pulled his phone out of his pocket before answering. "Hello?" I said shakily as I looked at Edward. "Serena! Are you alright?!" I heard Alice's panicked voice say. "I-I-I don't know!" I replied as I paced back and forth.
"Why what's wrong? I just..." said Alice. "What is it Alice what did you see?!" I demanded. "Here's Carlisle-""Serena, what's going on?" said Carlisle as Alice handed him the phone. "I don't know. It's hard to explain but Carlisle I'm worried about Edward. Can vampires go into shock?" I said as I looked back at Edward who was still frozen in his place.
"Has Edward been harmed?" Carlisle asked. "Uhh no he hasn't. I-I don't even know if it's possible but Carlisle, I think I'm pregnant" I replied before I let out a groan as I felt another movement. "Carlisle I swear something just moved inside me!" I said as a tear fell from my eyes. The phone was suddenly ripped from my hand by Edward before he put it to his own.
"Is this even possible?" he said into the phone as he stood a few feet away from me. "What's he saying?" I said as I walked over to him. "Yeah, yeah I will" Edward said after a few moments before he hung up the phone. Within seconds Edward began rushing around the room, packing the suitcases. I sat in the chair as the shock still hit me.
There's no way I could be pregnant. It couldn't be possible. Edward is 109 years old, there's no way he would still be able to... I shook why head as I leaned it on my hand. "Damnit" he muttered after a few moments when a knock sounded at the door. "Kaure's making sure you're still alive" said Edward as he walked out of the room.
I covered my mouth as I felt the tears sting my eyes. I walked into the ensuite and stood in front of the mirror as I looked at my reflection, specifically my abdomen. I'm pregnant...I'm going to be a mother My thoughts were interrupted when I heard Edward and Kaure arguing in Portuguese before she appeared in the doorway of the room, a look of fear on her face as she looked at me.
"O que você sobre isso? (What do you know about this?)" said Edward, a look of desperation on his face. "Eu sei que você um demônio! Você matou essa garotinha! (I know that you are a demon! You killed this little girl!)" Kaure said as she looked between Edward and I. "Her people have legends. She might have seen this before" said Edward as he walked over to me and I nodded.
"Por favor. Me diga como ajudá-la (Please. Tell me how to help her)" he said as he looked at Kaure. "Você só faz mal! (You only do bad!)" Kaure snapped. "Eu estou te implorando Eu farei qualquer coisa. Eu amo ela. Par favor. Diga-me como ela pode sobreviver a isso (I am begging you. I will do anything. I love her. Please. Tell me how she can survive this)" Edward begged.
After a few moments Kaure slowly walked over to me. She stopped in front of me before looking down at my abdomen before looking at me and I nodded before she placed her hand on my abdomen and closed her eyes. After a few seconds she opened them before looking at me. "Morte (Death)" said Kaure, a solemn look on her face.
Edward's face turned dark as Kaure walked away. "What does that mean?" I said as I looked at him. "I'm not going to let it hurt you. Carlisle will get that thing out" he said bitterly before walking away. "Thing?" I said to myself as I held my abdomen. I walked to my bag and grabbed my phone before going through my contacts and putting my phone to my ear.
"Rosalie" I said as she answered the phone. "Serena? Is everything alright?" she asked.
