I sighed as I looked down at my watch to see it was 8:06 PM. "Why is she always late?! Practise finished half an hour ago" I said to myself as I looked up. A car came speeding into the parking lot and I recognised it as my moms. She parked in front of me as I walked to the passenger side. I climbed in and slammed the door.
"Just for once mom. For once do you think you could come on time?!" I said. "I'm sorry baby I didn't mean to be late!" she replied as she looked at me and I stared at her. "Are you high?!" I exclaimed as I saw the needle in the cup bolder. "N-No that's an old one" she stammered as she grabbed it and threw it out the window.
I reached forward grabbing her arm, rolling up her sleeve and saw the fresh needle mark. A look of guilt crossed her face and I let go of her arm turning away from her. "It was only a little bit Serena I-""I don't want to hear it. Just take me home" I said blowing her off. She sighed and started up the car driving home. 15 minutes later we arrived and I climbed out.
I stalked up to the front door and unlocked it before walking in. I began making my way up the stairs heading for my room. "I'm going into town to meet Rick" said my mom and I scoffed as I turned towards her. "Wow. Big surprise there huh. Once again he comes before me" I said as I shook my head. "That's not true" My mom argued.
"Yes it is mom! You're never fucking here because you're either shooting yourself up with heroin, getting drunk down at the bar, fighting with Rick and doing God knows what else!" I exclaimed as I waved my hands around angrily. "I've always been here for you Serena!" exclaimed my mom."You were never here! You were never fucking here! You left me 4 years ago when Charlotte died! I was 13! 13 and taking care of you! Taking care of the both of us! I was the one calling 911 whenever you would OD, or when Rick would beat you up! What kind of 13 year old wants that pressure on their shoulders?! What kind of 13 year old wants to revive their mom more times then they can count?!" I exclaimed.
"Ever since Charlotte died you've changed mom and I hate the new you! You're always gone! Emotionally and physically!" I said angrily. "I lost my daughter Serena!" My mom exclaimed. "CHARLOTTE WASN'T YOUR ONLY CHILD! I'M YOUR DAUGHTER TOO!" I screamed as angry tears fell from my eyes. My mom went silent as she stared up at me.
"Drugs don't love you! Alcohol doesn't love you! Rick doesn't love you! But I do and that's still not good enough for you?!" I exclaimed. "I'll be back late" She muttered as she started towards the door. "Don't even bother coming back this time" I spat and she turned looking back at me, hurt in her brown eyes before she silently left the house.
I ran to my room and screamed as I throw my bag across the room. It hit my wall with a heavy thud before falling to a slump on the ground. I sobbed as I collapsed onto my bed covering my face as I cried myself to sleep.
