The streets were quiet in the late afternoon. Most were home with friends and family preparing for their Christmas Eve feast. Most shops were closed for the holidays and most people had done their necessary shopping a couple days prior. The tavern, however, was opened but would be closing up earlier.

Jean, being the workaholic that she was, had holed herself up in her office from sunrise to sunset. However, since it was Christmas Eve, she decided to give herself a break. After making sure her office was neatly organized, she put on her warm trench coat and made her way to Angel's Share.

She walked through the quiet streets of the city, the only sound being her heels clicking across the pavement. A light flurry of snow fell across the city and the chilly wind nipped at Jean's nose. Soon enough she arrived at the tavern and pushed the door open. She let out a sigh of relief as the warmth of the tarven enveloped her. She quickly closed the door behind her as to not let the warmth escape.

She took a seat by the bar and greeted Charles. "How are you, Charles?" She asked politely.

Charles gave her a smile. "Can't say anything bad about tonight. One more hour and I'll soon be home with the family."

Jean smiled when she saw the twinkle in Charles' eyes at the mention of his family.

"Then I won't keep you waiting." Jean lightly laughed. "I'll just have a bottle of Weissbier, please."

Charles nodded and walked to the backroom to grab the beer from the fridge. Despite it being chilly outside, Jean was craving a nice cool beer tonight. Normally she would opt for a simple white wine, but tonight it wouldn't be enough to get her mind off things.

It had been a week since the fateful night with Lisa. Since then, she regretfully, had been avoiding Lisa as much as she could. Jean, over the last few days, had taken to keeping her office door locked. Lisa had stopped by her office several times to try to talk to her and every time, Jean would ignore her.

It pained her to do that to her friend, but Jean still couldn't work up the courage to talk about this with Lisa. She knew that the more she ignored Lisa, the more heartbroken her friend became. Lisa visits, by the end of the week, has become scarce. Jean sighed heavily and rested her head on her hand.

Charles returned shortly and popped open the beer for her. She graciously took the chilled drink and took a long swig of the somewhat fruity tasting beer.

"If you need anything else, Jean, I'll be in the back organizing some stuff before we close for the holidays." Said Charles, leaving Jean to her own thoughts. The bar was empty tonight, save for Jean and Charles. The empty bar gave her the peace and quiet to sort through her jumbled thoughts.

Her stupid feelings and fear was causing a rift in her friendship with Lisa and she hated knowing that. Which is why she spent a good portion of today debating on how she could talk to Lisa and apologize for being so distant. She had decided a while ago that she will talk to Lisa but she just...needed some courage. That was also partially why she was at the bar. Jean figured that a little liquid courage would be able to help her be slightly braver.

The more she thought about her plan to confront Lisa, and the more beer she drank, the better she felt. Quite soon she found herself chugging the last of her beer. With more determination than ever before, she left the tavern but not before wishing Charles a Merry Christmas.

With haste in her steps, Jean sped through the streets of Mondstadt with her destination clear in her mind. Soon enough she found herself standing in front of a quaint little home on the East side of the city. She knew Lisa would be home because she had heard her wishing some of the Knights a good night at the headquarters.
