Mona x Fem!Reader [Request 26] - Birthday Surprise

Sorry for the slow updates ya'll! Been busy with work, I'm always so tired afterwards so I haven't been in the mood for writing and I'm just getting myself settled in my new house. For those of you who are asking when I'll start taking updates again, I still have four more old requests to catch up on then I'll most likely open up requests again around that time. "D-do you have a back entrance I can take?" You whispered to the shopkeeper even though there was no one else in the store with you two.

He had a twinkle in his eyes as he answered you. "Of course dear."

The shopkeeper shook his head in amusement and led you past the counter to a door. Your eyes widened at his private workspace. You looked up at the walls in aw. The shelves ran higher than you anticipated and each little cubby hole was filled with scrolls, manuscripts, and magical objects.

You were brought out of your wonderment by a chuckle. You looked at the shopkeeper who was regarding you with silent amusement. He opened the backdoor for you and held it open.

You walked through and thanked him for helping you find everything you needed.

"It was a pleasure (Y/N), I hope your surprise turns out well. Please, feel free to come back and bring your lady next time. I'm sure there is more you'd find interesting in my shop." The shopkeeper gave a kind smile before closing the door with a soft thud.

You carefully walk down the back alley of the shop towards the main streets. Before walking out, you peeked around the corner and looked side to side. When you didn't see your target, you quickly scurried out and ran home.

You unlocked the door and rushed to your bedroom while slamming the door shut behind you. You checked your watch and estimated you had maybe 2 hours to set things up before she came home so you got to work wrapping your gifts and setting up the kitchen.

You stood at the entrance of your kitchen with your hands on your hips and a proud smile on your face. You admired your handy work happily. You startled when you heard the lock to your home jiggle.

You quickly scurry to the front door just in time to see Mona opening the door. Her eyes widened and she took a step back, not expecting you to be standing right on the other side of the door.

"Happy birthday!" You screamed in her face. Mona was stunned but she quickly recovered to thank you. You excitedly pulled the curvy brunette into your arms and hugged her tightly.

You didn't give her a chance to even breathe before you towed her into the kitchen. Mona's eyes widened at the sight. Streamers and decorations hung all around the modest sized kitchen. The dining room table had a nice blue and gold embroidered cloth over it with a huge feast on top. On the counter of the kitchen, instead of the usual dishes, there were wrapped presents.

Mona's eyes teared up a little at the thoughtfulness of your actions.

"Y-you did all this? For me?" Mona whispered, disbelieving.

You nodded enthusiastically and dragged her to a chair. You firmly pushed her down and you shoved the food in front of her. Mona inhaled the wondrous aroma of the food and closed her eyes in delight. After a long day of hiding away in her study outside the walls of the city, she was starving. She also got so caught up in her practice that she often forgot to take care of herself.

Mona blushed when you took a seat beside her and started to feed her. You two had only been dating for a few months now and she quickly learned that you loved taking care of her. You took your sweet time feeding your girlfriend and asking her about her day.
