Asami sat on the edge of the dock with her legs dangling over. Asami was eating a nice warm mora meat bun as she stared out over the vast sea.
Asami has been living in Liyue for nearly 8 months now. Beidou had delivered Asami to Liyue and she introduced Asami to a friend of hers named Ganyu. The half-human half-adepti woman was kind and welcoming. Asami had spent a lot of time getting to know her new friend especially since Ganyu was helping Asami adjust to living in Liyue at the request of Beidou. Asami learned that Beidou and Ganyu are good friends but Beidou still opted to keep their friendship a secret because she didn't want her reputation to affect Ganyu's own reputation.
Ganyu set Asami up in a nice apartment a short walk away from the city and she got a job as an assistant secretary to the Liyue Qixing working under Ganyu. However, Asami had joined Beidou on a few adventurers out at sea and it was the best time of her life! The crew were like family to her and she was able to see so many unknown wonders of Teyvat.
Asami was a little embarrassed to admit but Beidou had to save her one too many times than she would like to admit. But it amazed Asami how incredibly skilled Beidou was! She was a real demon on the battlefield.
After her 7th time almost getting injured, Beidou decided that it was perhaps a little too dangerous for Asami to be following her so Beidou had asked that Asami stay in Liyue for a little bit while she considered whether she should take Asami on another adventure or not. It had been 3 weeks since Beidou left. Asami sat on the dock with a heavy heart each day for several hours looking at the sea. She hoped that she would see the familiar Alcor sailing in but nothing changed.
Asami was worried that Beidou had decided to drop her all together and she would not return for her. It was odd but Asami, in this time, had asked some friends she made from the Millelith if they could teach her a bit of self-defense and fighting skills. They happily helped her train and she didn't want to brag but she has improved sooo much. She prayed for the day that Beidou would return so she could show her all the skills that Asami learned!
"Good afternoon, Asami." A sweet voice greeted. Asami looked away from the sea to see Ganyu sitting beside her.
"Hello." Asami smiled. "How are you?"
"Very good, thank you. And yourself? I would wager a guess that you are still missing Beidou." Ganyu teased.
Asami turned away and blushed. During the few months that she had spent with Beidou, she had developed a crush on the older woman and Ganyu had found on one unfortunate night a week ago. Asami had been so upset that she started ranting in her room about her feelings for Beidou. Unbeknownst to her, Ganyu had been outside with the intention of asking Asami out for dinner. She had heard Asami's confession and since then, she hasn't stopped teasing the younger woman about it.
Ganyu's smile softened when she noticed the slight frown on Asami's face. She figured that Asami was still very upset but Ganyu had actually come to share some good news.
"You might not be sad for much longer." Ganyu said.
Asami looked at her friend with a frown. "What do you mean?" She asked, confused.
Ganyu giggled behind her hand while pulling out a letter.
"This should put a smile on your face." Ganyu said, handing the letter to Asami.
Asami unfolded the letter and read the contents of the paper. Sure enough, a smile did grow on her face but it was quickly overtaken by feelings of anxiety.
"D-do you know what Beidou wants to talk to me about?" She asked Ganyu, chewing on her lips. It was a nervous habit that Asami had. The heart swelled when she read that Beidou was on her way back from an adventure and that when she was back, she wanted to speak with Asami.
