Lisa x Jean - Holiday Warmth Part 1

A light flurry of snow fell over the city of Mondstadt, signaling the beginnings of the holiday seasons. It was a joyous occasion for many as it was a time for friends and family to gather together in celebration of a time for love, friendship, and happiness. Red and green tinsels curled around the lamp poles in the city. Several store fronts had beautiful glimmering lights decorating the edge of their buildings. In the centre of the market area, a large Christmas tree stood proudly decorated. At night, the warm lights from the tree casted a gentle glow over the city.

Jean was sitting in her office, pruning through the numerous documents that she hadn't finished reviewing during the day. It was nearly midnight and most of the staff in the knight's headquarters already went home for the night. The only ones that remained were Jean and the few knights who had night guard duty.

Quiet, light footsteps made their way leisurely towards the office door of the Acting Grandmaster. Jean was so wrapped up in her work that she didn't notice the door open and a figure stepped through. Her visitor gave an exasperated sigh at seeing her dear friend still engrossed in her work despite how late it was. She knew this was a habit of Jean's though, so she came bearing a little gift that she knew Jean would need and appreciate.

Jean was reviewing a request for a construction permit when a sharp thud jolted her out of her thoughts. She looked to her left to see Lisa standing beside her desk with hand over, what she would guess, an amused smile.

"Sorry darling. Did I startle you?" Lisa chuckled behind her hand.

Jean blinked a few times, a little perplexed by how Lisa ended up in her office. Another laugh brought her out of her thoughts. Jean blushed when Lisa laughed at her confusion.

"J-just a little. What are you still doing here? I thought you would have gone home a couple hours ago." Jean asked.

"Well I could ask you the same, sweetheart. It's nearing midnight and you're still in your office going through all those drab documents." Lisa gave Jean a gentle smile before pushing her gift towards her long-time friend.

Jean glanced down to see Lisa pushing a steaming cup of tea and a personal sized invigorating pizza, her favourite dish of all time, towards her. Jean's eyes widened just a fraction, not at all expecting this.

"Eat up, darling. Knowing you, you probably skipped out on dinner what with you getting so lost in your work and all." Lisa teased, taking a seat on the edge of Jean's spacious desk.

Jean let out a little sheepish laugh and her blush deepened when her stomach growled at the smell of the delicious food. It warmed her heart to know that Lisa was so caring towards her. It amazed her how perceptive Lisa was, but she wasn't at all surprised considering how intelligent she was.

Jean reached for the steaming mug of tea and took a deep whiff of its wonderful aroma. She let the mug warm her chilly fingers. After taking a delicate sip of the hot tea, she reached for the pizza. She took a slice and took the first bite of the heavenly dish. She closed her eyes and moaned quietly as the flavours erupted in her mouth. It was probably due to her hunger, but this invigorating pizza was the best of any that she's eaten before.

"Darling, you really mustn't make those kinds of noises." Lisa chuckled light heartedly.

Jean's eyes popped open and her face flared up with heat. In a rush to explain herself, she choked on the unchewed pizza in her mouth. She immediately erupted into a fit of coughs. Lisa was on her feet and by Jean's side, giving the poor girl a couple pats on the back.

"Oh dear. I'm so sorry Jean, I didn't mean to surprise you like that." Lisa explained with a hint of concern in her voice and face.

Jean rapidly patted her chest, trying to get her coughs under control. She took a couple sips of the tea to hopefully help clear her throat. After a few moments, she finally got her coughs under control but her face was still as red as a tomato and as hot as the sun.
