It was in the late afternoon that Ningguang emerged from the court of Liyue after a long day of deciding the fates of those who broke the laws of Liyue. Ningguang made her way to a nearby balcony and took a deep inhale of her smoking pipe. She closed her eyes and slowly exhaled the smoke. A soft sigh soon followed as she felt her body begin to relax. She pressed a slim hand to the back of her neck and began to massage her stiff neck.

Ningguang allowed her gaze to roam over the vast sea surrounding Liyue harbour and the citizens that were bustling around busily in the streets of the city...well...most were busy. She noticed at the front entrance of the building were her three secretaries - Baixiao, Baishi, and Baiwen. She paid her secretaries handsomely because it was a busy job considering how much business she was involved in. She certainly did not pay them to be standing around giggling and chit-chatting.

Ningguang pressed a hand to her forehead while letting out a frustrated sigh. She turned away from the balcony and made her way down the stairs. When she made it to the main floor of the Jade Chamber. Ningguang was about to descend down when she saw a flash of blue and felt a body collide with hers. Ningguang quirked an eyebrow as the body fell to the ground; Ninnguang herself remained standing.

Her brows furrowed with worry when she noticed Ganyu on the ground, a delicate hand pressed to the side of her head.

"Oh, my dear Ganyu, I am so sorry. Are you okay?" Ningguang asked. She reached a hand out to the human-adeptus hybrid. Ganyu graciously took hold of Ningguang's hand and she felt herself being pulled onto her feet.

"Yes, M'Lady, I am okay. No need to apologize, it was my fault. I was in such a rush that I didn't think to be aware of my surroundings." Ganyu bowed deeply to her superior.

Ningguang felt the corner of her lips tug up in a small smile. Ganyu was her most hardworking and diligent secretary - she was a gem that Ningguang would never give up. She always had a soft spot in her heart for the young woman.

"No need to apologize, it was a simple accident. May I ask why you are in such a rush?"

Ningguang curiously watched Ganyu's brows pull together and a worried expression overtook her face.

"Oh n-no particular reason. Just some work that I need to get done and I would like to finish it as soon as possible." Ningguang looked at the woman, unconvinced.

Ningguang was never the type of woman to beat around the bush so she went straight to the point. "You lie to me, Ganyu. Tell me what's going on."

Ganyu nervously looked to the side and debated what to do. She opened her mouth and was ready to tell Ningguang that everything was okay but she thought better of it. She didn't want to disappoint her superior and she knew Ningguang would just see through her lies given how observant the Tianquan is.

Ganyu took a deep breath before explaining her situation to Ningguang. "I-I can't seem to find Baixiao, Baishi, and Baiwen anywhere. They have some assignments due in the next few days but they have not started them yet. I have started some assignments for them but I require their help, there is still much to be done."

Ningguang pierced her lips and narrowed her eyes. She had not expected this type of behaviour from her secretaries so she was fuming inside. She did not build her wealth and power with negligent and lazy employees. She expected absolute diligence and dedication from all her workers, especially considering how generously she paid them.

"I see, thank you for informing me. I was actually on my way to talk to them, I last saw them at the entrance. Come with me my dear Ganyu, we will pay them a visit together." Without waiting for a response, Ningguang led the way outside of the Jade Chamber.
