"Let's see...this flaming flower appears to be...swaying?" Sucrose hummed to herself, deep in thought. "Perhaps this is from the long exposure to anemo energy." Sucrose nods to herself thinking that her conclusion is correct. She had heard that flaming flowers gain intelligence and strange behaviours the more it gathers elemental energy. She grabs her journal and notes the strange behaviour from the plant.
A sudden shout and a crash outside her lab had her flinching. She looked down at her journal and frowned when she noticed the scribble she made from being startled. Sucrose slowly approached the window of the lab to see what on earth was happening outside.
She chuckled nervously when she noticed that it was the outrider Amber. She looked like she was a tad nervous and was being lectured by a Knight. Sucrose could only guess that Amber was caught doing some mischievous flying and now she was getting reprimanded. It wouldn't surprise Sucrose if Amber had her flying license revoked again.
Sucrose turned away from the window and went back to her flaming flowers. She pressed a finger to her lips and began thinking about her research. "Hmm...mist flowers and flaming flowers are the elemental opposites of each other. Perhaps their response to elementary energy would be similar with some differences? That would be fascinating to research but unfortunately I do not have mist flowers...I'll have to get some."
A knock on her door pulled Sucrose out of her thoughts.
"Hey there, Sucrose!" The familiar voice of Paimon greeted. Sucrose looked towards the door and saw Paimon and Lumine.
"O-oh hello. How are you two today?" Sucrose politely greeted.
"We're good!" Paimon said cheery. "But...ehhhh Sucrose we were wondering if you could help us with something." Paimon asked tentatively.
Sucrose's curiosity was piqued. "S-sure. W-what do you need h-help with?"
"We were wondering if you could help us with transmuting some gemstones? Timaeus isn't at the crafting station so we were a bit lost."
Sucrose frowned a little because she was a little disappointed to know that Timaeus wasn't doing his job and it was now some-what interfering with her research. She was hoping to go harvest some mist flowers before the sun went down.
Lumine noticed the frown on Sucrose's face and immediately felt bad about asking her for help. It was clear that the alchemist was busy but also didn't want to be rude and say no.
"A-actually Sucrose, on second thought we aren't in a rush to get the gem stones. I forgot but we still have a commission to do. I'm sure by the time we finish Timaeus should be back!"
"Wait but didn't we-" Paimon started to say but Lumine clamped a hand over her friend's mouth.
"Sorry for disturbing you, Sucrose!" Lumine dragged a confused paimon out of the building.
Sucrose tilted her head in confusion about their odd departure but she was pretty relieved that they didn't need her help afterall. She took this opportunity to lock up the lab and head outside. There was still a few hours of sun left so she could probably visit the Dawn Winery to harvest some flowers.
Sucrose was walking down the hall with her head down so she did not notice the person who was sprinting towards her until it was too late. Sucrose let out a startled cry and fell down. She vaguely heard a gasp but was not sure because she was too busy focusing on the pain she felt on her bottom.
"Oh my gosh! Are you okay, I am soooo sorry for running into you!"
Sucrose gasped and didn't even have time to react to the hands that reached for hers and hoisted her to her feet.
