You were seated on a comfy leather chair with your arms crossed and a pout on your lips. You glared at your beautiful workaholic girlfriend who was sat behind her office desk going through her balance sheets.

Ningguang was a powerful business woman who was at the top of the nation through hard work and extreme dedication. Ningguang had been working since the crack of dawn and you were bored waiting at home for her. You went to her office later that day to see what was happening. It was no surprise you found her buried in her work.

You wanted her attention but the darn woman was so obsessed with her work that she didn't even notice you had been sitting across from her for the last 10 minutes. You were hoping that she would notice your presence but that didn't seem to be going well.

All you wanted from her was some cuddles and kisses! It had been so long since you two spent some time together so you were starved of physical affection. You missed those nights where you two would lay on the couch together watching movies. Most of the time, you two didn't even finish the movie since you ended up making out until you fell asleep.

Ningguang placed her document down and you were hopeful that she was finally going to notice you but that quickly went out the window when she smoothly reached for the next document.

You couldn't stand it anymore and shouted. "Ning-ning!"

Ningguang startled and dropped the paper in her hand. Her head snapped up and she stared at you with wide eyes.

"(Y/N)? When did you get here?" Ningguang asked. She didn't even bat an eyelash at the god awful nickname you had for her. You were the only person in the whole of Teyvat who could get away with calling her such a childish name but you kept her nickname a secret between the two of you. If anyone outside of you two found out about Ningguang's nickname, someone would get brutally injured and it wasn't going to be you.

"I've been here for the last 10 minutes, Ning-ning. Thanks for noticing." You grumbled. "When will you be home? I miss you!" You shout, exasperated.

Ningguang's eye softened. The meaning of your words was not lost to her. She knew you would sometimes get needy and clingy. She hadn't seen that side of you for a while. Since it was so rare that you get needy she decided it was only right to humour you this time - despite being a workaholic, she absolutely hated neglecting you.

Ningguang pushed her office chair away from her desk a bit to make some room. "Come here, (Y/N)." She said, gesturing to her lap. Your face lit up and you hurried around her desk to climb into her lap. Ningguang wrapped her arms around you and smiled down at you as you adjusted yourself in her lap. Ningguang chuckled to herself when you snuggled into her chest and sighed contentedly.

"Comfortable?" She asked. You nodded happily and sighed again. You really missed this so it felt nice.

Ningguang smoothed her hand over your hair, lovingly. Truth be told, she really missed these moments too. It was a nice break from dealing with stubborn business people and incompetent employees.

"Will you be okay like this for half an hour, (Y/N)?" Ningguang asked softly. "I have a few more documents to go through and then we can go home and do whatever you like."

You frowned but you nodded your head. While it did suck you two couldn't go home yet, being in Ningguang's arms was enough to make you tolerate her work for a bit longer.

"We can pick up some food from Wanmin, how does that sound?" You nodded your head more firmly this time. She really knew how to get you in a good mood again; you absolutely looooved the food Chef Mao cooked. You would do almost anything to get your hands and mouth on his delicious food."

By the time Ningguang was done with her work, it was well over 30 minutes later because you had gotten antsy in the middle of it. You kept fidgeting in her lap and she would have to pause her work until you settled down again. Other times you tugged at her long hair and kept asking about her day. Ningguang patiently answered all your questions but she pinched your side every time to hopefully dissuade you from distracting her - it didn't work. It especially slowed her down when you grabbed one of her hands to play with. But she was finally done and you two were walking down the streets of Liyue Harbour on your way home with bags of takeout food in your hands.

You skipped ahead of Ningguang rambling about your day to her. You didn't see the way Ningguang looked at you with love in her eyes. It warmed her heart to know that despite being a busy woman with many faults, you still loved her unconditionally. Most would have run away long ago but you didn't and for that, Ningguang will love you until the end of time.
