Eula approached the gates of Liyue Harbour with a scowl on her face. She had a terribly long journey from Mondstadt to here because several groups of hilichurls thought it would be a good idea to attack her. She swiftly dealt with them with little to no mercy.
When Eula approached the gates, she noticed two milleth guards awaiting her arrival, as usual.
They bowed deeply to her when she approached them. "Captain Lawrence, it is a pleasure to have you in our city again." Said the first guard. Eula nodded at the guard.
"It is good to be back. How have you two been?" Eula asked politely. The guards turned and led her through the lively city while making small talk.
It wasn't long before she was inside the Jade Chamber. The guards have long since left and Eula was just waiting for Ningguang to finish her current meeting so they could start their own.
Due to the adventures of the traveller and her companion, political connections between Liyue and Mondstadt have been stronger than ever. In addition, the presence and potential danger that the abyss order posed to both nations spurred the nations to create a pact. When the pact was made, Jean had deemed Eula as the ambassador.
Eula would journey to Liyue once a month to ensure that the terms and conditions outlined in the pact were met to the satisfaction of both nations. While it was a mundane job, it also held a lot of importance. Originally, Eula had wished Jean chose someone else to be the ambassador but after meeting Ningguang, Eula learned that not many in Mondstadt would be able to handle a blunt leader like her. Eula respected the hell out of Ningguang, that was one of the reasons she took this particular job so seriously.
It wasn't long before the doors to Ningguang's office opened. Eula stood off to the side and watched a group of merchants file out of Ningguang's office. When Eula didn't see anyone else leave the room, she walked to the entrance and knocked on the door frame. Ningguang smiled when she saw Eula.
"Captain Lawrence, it's good to see you again. How have you been?" Ningguang asked
"I have been well Lady Ningguang, and yourself?"
"Good. All is well in Mondstadt I hope?" Eula nodded and walked towards Ningguang's desk.
"Yes, things have been well." Eula answered. She sat in one of the large leather chairs Ningguang had in front of her desk.
"I'm glad to hear. I apologize but it seems my associate, Yanfei, is running late. She-"
"I'm here! I'm here!" A voice shouted from the doors. Eula glanced over her shoulder and watched the flustered visitor quickly close the door and scramble to join her in one of the chairs. "I'm sorry, I hope you two didn't have to wait long. I had a meeting with a client who didn't seem to know when a conversation had ended."
Ningguang chuckled. "We didn't have to wait long. Thank you for joining us today, Yanfei. Captain Lawrence, do you remember Yanfei from our last meeting? She is the best lawyer in Liyue and probably the whole of Teyvat." Ningguang praised much to the embarrassment of Yanfei. Although she knew her skills were unparalleled, it didn't make taking compliments any easier.
Eula turned to Yanfei and extended her hand. "I do remember Miss. Yanfei. Her reputation runs far and wide."
Yanfei blushed and gingerly shook Eula's hand.
Ningguang smiled at her two companions. "Shall we begin our meeting? I'm sure both of you would like some rest after your long day. We can quickly go over the basics and we can meet to discuss the rest in finer detail tomorrow when you're both well rested. Does that sound agreeable?"
