Marceline

Pagkarating namin sa gym, halos nandito lahat ng students ng Saint.

"Woah! I've never seen a lot of students in one place aside from the welcome ceremony." Narinig kong komento ni Stacey.

"Stace! Marceline!" Narinig naming may tumatawag sa amin. Si Shannon pala. She was waving at us, urging us to go to her.

"May naka reserve na seats sa atin, doon malapit sa bench nila Rahi." She said when we got to her. Napataas ang kilay ko sa sinabi niya.

"Who reserved it?" Tanong ni Stacey sa kanya at inakbayan pa ito. Ugh!

Pinalo naman ni Shannon ang kamay ng pinsan ko at inalis sa balikat niya. "Aray!"

Napangisi ako sa inakto nila. "Isang bagong member ng women's basketball team ang nagsabi sa'kin. Si Yoj nag utos."

"Cool." Tanging sagot ng pinsan ko at pumunta na kami 'dun sa spot na malapit sa bench nila Rahi.

"Hey guys! Good luck sa game ninyo!" Stacey shouted once we got seated. Napalingon naman ang team sa amin. Nagtama ang paningin namin ni Rahi, and I saw a tint of embarrassment in those brown orbs. She averted her gaze at tumakbo papunta sa loob ng court for and did a couple of shooting. I smiled inwardly.

"Thanks Stace!" Sigaw ni Luci with the same enthusiasm.

Yoj eyed me with a playful smirk plastered on her face. Same Acero vibe when we were at their inland resort.

Nag punta na sa loob ng court ang buong team ng basketball girls namin at nag warm up.

They had a 10 members including the four girls who are famous.

Stacey was grinning all the time she was looking at them. Shannon on the other hand is smiling. What is wrong with these two?

I was sitting in between them, kasi ayokong maglandian lang silang dalawa.
"I'm going to start introducing who are the four girls inside the basketball court. Including the members they had in the previous years." Sabi ni Stacey na siyang ikinalingon ko sa kanya.

"Sure. I am curious how they got to gain this audience just by announcing their names just to play this stupid friendly game." I answered which made Stacey and Shannon laughed.

"Maldita as ever." Napapailing na komento ni Stacey.

"Tasha Dante, and Melissa Contes both of them are Grade 11 students. Batchmate ni Shannon. Tasha is the small forward, and Melissa is a power forward. Either the two of them are included sa first five." Panimula ni Stacey.

"Yoj is the team captain." Napataas ang kilay ko. "She is?"

Natawa si Shannon. "She is. Hindi lang halata kasi sobrang tamad niya kapag nakikita mo lang siya sa labas ng court. But she is a great playmaker sa loob ng court. She's responsible too when it comes to basketball and handling the team. Yoj Acero is also known as the best center in the district. No one could pass by her because of how tight she is when it comes to guarding, but when she scores no one could stop her either." Sabi ni Shannon.

"Si Xeah naman ang vice captain, alam naman natin kung bakit. Xeah is great at throwing three's. She's playing as the small forward. She may look girly, but damn she could throw the ball into the ring like its nothing. They named her as the Princess of Three's." Sabi ni Stacey.

As if on cue, Xeah did a three point stance and throw the ball like indeed its nothing. Walang singaw niya itong naipasok, which made the whole gym cheered.

"Luci is the shooting guard, the best one in the district. Magaling talaga si Luci sa paglalaro. Ilang beses na rin niya nagawa ang ankle breaker at napaka suave na move 'yun. Hindi pa rin talaga ako masasanay kapag nagagawa niya 'yun." Shannon said at napalingon ako kay Luci. She's doing a stupid dance move inside the court. A play girl attitude like that? Can be so good inside the court? These girls are so talented.
