I watched Marceline standing with Yoj nearby our cottage. Yoj just slipped away when I decided to go to Marceline.

"Hey." Napalingon si Marceline sa'kin, she welcomed me with a bright smile.

Nahawa na din ako sa ngiti niyang kasing ganda niya.

"Let's get out of here." I told her at nilayo siya sa grupo. We end up somewhere quiet. Sa kiddie pool.

"You're supposed to be celebrating there."

"Nah, I'd rather spend time with my girlfriend." Inakbayan ko siya. She jokingly pushed me away and laughed.

"You better be. I miss you." Ngumiti lang ako. Naupo kami sa gilid ng pool. Our feet dangling in the water.

"Shu is still with his Dad?"

She turned to me, tilting her head.

"No. Nasa bahay siya nila Xeah."

Tumango naman si Marceline.

"So what's up with you and the Lascivus?"

"Just like my Mama. I made a choice and I choose starting over again."

"You chose forgiveness. I'm so proud of you love."

"Love?" Mapanukso ko siyang tiningnan.

"What?" She inquired.

"Masarap pala sa ears." I told her she just chuckled.

"Right, before I forgot."

She shuffled something in her bag. Nacurious tuloy ako kung anong hinahalungkat niya.

"Here. Belated happy birthday." Inabot niya sa'kin ang mahabang rectangular case.

Tinitigan ko 'yun at napasulyap sa kanya.

"You didn't have to buy me a gift."

"I insist. Besides, you give things to the person you love. Be it something tangible or something that you know that can make them happy."

Ngumiti ako. My dragona girlfriend is tamed.

Kinuha ko 'yung case at binuksan 'yun.

I gasped at the gift. A necklace with a ring as its pendant. I touched it and I noticed words that are engraved inside.

"It's not living..." Bigkas ko sa mga salitang nakasulat sa singsing.

"If it's not with you." Tugon ni Marceline at pinakita sa'kin ang kaparehong kwentas. She even showed me the ring that has the continuation of the engraved words from mine.

Hindi ko napigilan ang sarili ko na yakapin si Marceline.

"Thank you for this Laine. Thank you for coming into my life, unexpectedly." I felt her hugged me back.

"I love you, Rahi." I pulled away.

"I love you Marceline." I kissed her forehead.

Tahimik lang naming ini-enjoy ang company ng isa't isa. She leaned on me, her back is facing me. Nakayakap lang ako sa kanya as we enjoyed the night. I'm so happy that my life is going smooth for now. Alam ko namang hindi magiging madali ang lahat. But I'm just glad that I get to tell Marceline my true feelings.

"My birthday is in November 10. Just so you know." I just chuckled.

"Alright. Thanks for letting me know." Niyakap ko siya ng mahigpit.

After enjoying each other's company for an hour, bumalik kami sa cottage. Nagtatawanan pa din sila. They're not drinking too much kasi naman it's a school night.
