Let's Take It Slow

Mike still held onto Mara's palm firmly. He wondered if he was hurting her and she was too shy to say anything so naturally, he asked her.

"Is my grip at a good level, little Mara?"

Mara nodded a little. Surprisingly, the tight grip was helping to keep her grounded.

"Okay, tell me if I'm being too clingy, kay?" He winked playfully at her and giggled.

Rose and Jordi were watching the two from behind and something just moved inside of them.

Jordi wished she were the one holding Mara's hand right this minute, and Rose wished she even knew what was having a crush means...

Mara giggled a little, slightly blushing at the wink. "Ok, Mikey"

"Say, we haven't had a date yet. How am I realizing that just now?" Mike giggled a bit at himself. "So, what do you think?"

Mara smiled brightly. "I'd love to"

Rose looked down in thought. She finally came to a decision.

I'll talk with Asher tomorrow.

Jordi grinned in a mischievous way at the couple. "I want all juicy details"

"Only classified information, Jordi" Mike replied cheekily.

Mara laughed a little. Jordi gasped. "Hey, that's no fair"

Mike did a final shushing sound and kept going with a smile on his face.

Rose tried to smile along with her friends' antics but she was struggling.

In the infirmary stood two teens, a boy and a girl. The tall boy Matt was looking down at the short girl Evelyn who herself was looking down at the ground, and they were both blushing.

"I like you too, Eve. A lot. With time, slowly and surely, I started to develop genuine feelings for you, I..." Matt admitted. It was so strange and new to see him act this way. Shy, demure and unsure. It was quite endearing actually.

Eve didn't know what to say. She was still trying to grasp the fact that her crush just kissed her.

I just had my first kiss with my crush.

She noticed that he had gone silent, so she looked up and saw him staring at her still, with a small smile on his face.

"Matt...I don't know what to say...Y-you really caught me off-guard..." She started to fiddle with her fingers, something that Matt found endearing.

"I understand. It's okay, I just wanted to be honest. We don't have to jump into anything right away. We should let it sink for a while before we try out" He reasoned.

"I know..." Eve smiled a bit back at him.

"We should start heading home then..."

"Let's go"

The two started to leave side by side. The walk on the sidewalk was awkward.

"I never realized how awkward it is to be around someone you like and they like you back and you both know but you're not an item yet" Matt remarked.

"I'm pretty comfortable around you now though, Matty" Evelyn giggled.

"Me too, Eve. Me too"

Since her father would probably still be mad about the incident before, it was decided that Eve would walk to her front door alone, and so they split up and Matt carried on his way.

Wow. I still can't believe that happened...
