Demeanor Change

None of the four said another word...until a fifth member showed up.

"Hello everyone! Good morning" It was Evelyn, cheerful as always.

Jordi smiled at Eve. "Good morning, Eve"

"Good morning, Jordi" She turned to the other three. "Asher, Mike and Mara" Eve greeted them all. "What's going on?"

Mara happily looked over at Mike, silently asking if she could tell her.

"Putting you in the spotlight, Mara. Go ahead" He nodded encouragingly.

Eve oohed in curiosity as she eyed Mara.

She turned to Eve happily. "Me and Mike are dating" She could barely keep in her excitement.

Eve's eyes widened so far, she immediately ran up to Mara and hugged her.

"I'm so happy for you, you two are perfect for each other!"

Mike scratched his neck nervously.

Mara happily hugged back, so close to jumping up and down from excitement. Jordi couldn't help but crack a small smile at seeing how happy they were.

Eve went from hugging Mara to hugging Mike, and he gladly reciprocated.

Their excitement was interrupted when yet another voice jumped in.

"Did I miss something?". It was none other than Matthew. Upon hearing his voice, Eve pulled away from Mike and walked over to hug Matt, and he awkwardly hugged her back. "Hey uh...Hi Eve"

Mike pouted and groaned. "Aww, she was hugging me. You're such a party pooper, Matty"

Matt sighed and waved him off. "Sure, whatever"

Asher and Jordi weren't exactly joyous about Matt's appearance.

Mara was still just as giddy as before, not noticing Asher and Jordi's lack of joy.

Mike decided to be the bearer of news now. "Well if you must know, Anderson. It is official between me and M here" He grinned proudly.

Matt widened his eyes. "Wow, you actually took the initiative and did that. I'm actually not sarcastically impressed for once"

Mike rolled his eyes at him. "Whatever, man. I'll prove that I am a better boyfriend than you!" Mike challenged teasingly. Both Matt and Evelyn blushed slightly in response.

Mara couldn't help but let out a small giggle. Asher just rolled his eyes, laughing a bit and Jordi was unusually silent.

Matthew glanced behind him and saw other people going inside the school. "Welp, hate to end the festivities but we must get going, guys and gals"

Mike extended his hand towards Mara with a confident grin. "Shall we?"

Evelyn nodded in agreement. "Yeah, come on Asher, Jordi! Let's go!"

Mara rolled her eyes a bit but gladly took his hand. "We shall"

Asher nodded a bit, while Jordi already started walking.

Evelyn walked up to Asher with a concerned look. "You know what's going on with Jordi? She doesn't look alright"

Mike had already started walking as well with Mara, while Matt raised a brow at Eve's question but he stuck around to hear what Asher would say.

Asher just stared off at where Jordi was. "I'm not sure"

Matt walked up to the two of them. "Well, Fisher never was a bright sun everyday but I have to admit that Eve's got a point"

Evelyn nodded once more and looked worryingly at Asher again, while Matt gave him an unsure look.

Asher shrugged and turned to them. "I won't lie. It's concerning, but I'm not sure what's going on"

Matt and Evelyn shared a worried look. "We gotta do something, like cheer her up!" Eve piped up, and Matt looked at her questioningly. "Well, only you or Mara can do that apparently, Eve" He said.

Evelyn's face crunched at the words.

Asher rose an eyebrow but shrugged it off. "Well, then we should talk to M about that"

"Well, let's get going before Mike and Mara decide to elope already" Matt cracked a joke and gestured for the two to start walking.

Asher laughed and started walking to the school.

Evelyn however, didn't laugh and instead stood still, deep in thought. Matthew nudged her a little. "Come on, Eve"

The blonde looked up in surprise and stuttered. "Y-yeah...okay"

The duo followed the rest of their friends inside the school.
