Tying Up Loose Ends: Part One

"NO WAIT!" Matt raced to catch Jordi...but he was too late.

Back at ground level, Mara and Evelyn heard someone scream so they looked up...and they were met with the horrific sight of their friend pummeling to her death, while their other friend watched as he failed to catch her in time.

"Jordan..." Evelyn whispered softly.

Mara's eyes widened, she was speechless. Asher was also speachless, still holding the body of the girl he came to love.

In the end, it was all a big mess that everybody struggled to put together and understand, at least for a while...

A few days later...

"I'm really sorry I couldn't be there to help you, Matt.."

"Don't blame yourself, Mike..."

"I still can't believe it..."

"Me neither, dude. Me neither"

Currently, Matt was visiting Mike in the hospital. He had gotten better in the last few days and everyone was relieved to hear that.

"But enough about me, how's he doing?"

"You mean...?"

"Yeah..How's Asher doing?"

"I don't know. None of us seen much of him lately, but I don't blame him either. I did wanna talk to him though..."

"About what?"

"Just wrapping up things that are still stuck between us"

"Okay, good luck"

Their conversation was interrupted when the door swung open, and Mara came in.

"Here's your girlfriend, Henderson"

"Baby Mara in all her glory"

Mara laughed a little. "The one and only"

Surprisingly, in a short amount of time, she had come to be okay with the nickname.

"How have you been, Mara?" Matt asked.

"I've been okay. Well, as okay as someone can be when they figure out their friend was a psycho"

"Hey, lay off, Anderson. You get your own girlfriend" Mike joked around, making Matt shake his head.

"Well, go ahead and sit beside him, M" Matt gestured to his best friend's bedside.

Mara smiled and did so, sitting next to Mike, happy her boyfriend was okay.

Mike responded by bringing her into a hug. "I wuv you"

She blushed a little and laughed. "I wuv you too, cookie"

"Aww cute lovebirds...But I hate to ruin the moment. Have you seen Asher at all, M?" Matt inquired.

"No... I haven't" She replied.

"Oh well...I guess I'll look for him then..You stay here and enjoy yourselves, but no funny business! You're only 16 in a hospital" Matt joked around.

She laughed a little, blushing. "We know, we know. Good luck finding him"

"Aw shut up, Matty, you're just jealous" Mike smirked, blushing as well. Matt laughed and left while saying thank you to Mara.

...

"Do you think we'll ever do what he said not to do now?" Mike asked teasingly.

Mara blushed more and shrugged. "I guess we'll have to wait and see, cookie"

"I sense someone wants to get a ring~"

"Oh shush Mikey" She laughed a little.

"Okay okay..." He kissed her forehead and hugged her tighter.

She smiled and hugged back just as tightly.
