Intertwined

There's This Note...

Evelyn was on her way to the lunchroom. She hadn't realized how late she's been, so there she was speedwalking towards the canteen.

Jordi stood near the entrance of the canteen, secretly on her phone.

When she arrived, Evelyn spotted Jordi and walked up to her.

"Hi BFF, whatcha doing?".

She smiled at her friend and put her phone away. "Oh nothing, where ya been?".

"Oh, I just lost track of time. I've been thinking..about things" She blushed ever so lightly.

Jordi nodded a bit in response. "What kind of things?".

"Oh, unimportant" She dismissed her quickly.

"What's been going on with you?"

"Not much, just a normal day" Jordi shrugged a bit.

Evelyn groaned. "Ugh, it's like being at home"

Jordi hrugged a bit again.

"Jordi, can I tell you something?" Her blush deepened.

"Of course, you can tell me anything"

"I think...I think I really like..a certain someone"

Jordi perked up at those words? "Oh? And who is this someone?"

Evelyn looked around nervously.

"Promise not to tell anyone. The whole school would explode, probably"

"It's uh..it's..."

Jordi stayed silent, her anticipation and curiosity growing.

"You know that boy in our class, Matthew? That's..that's him"

"O-oh wow, really?" Jordi raised both her brows.

"Yes. I know, it's weird. We never talked before, and we have a few classes together but there's just something about him that...captures my attention" Evelyn buried her face in her hands.

"That's... great, Evelyn!"

"Thank you, I still don't know how to go about it, though..."

Jordi shrugged a bit. "Maybe try talking to him more.. I guess"

"Yeah, I guess..."

Jordi suddenly remembered something.

"Oh uhm, I don't know if you've seen but there is a secret admirer note circulating, and it's for.. you"

Evelyn snapped her head up so fast.

"Wait what?"

"Y-Yeah, from a M. Anderson"

Her eyes widened in shock.

"No...No way, it can't be him..."

Jordi shrugged a bit. "I think.. it might be.."

"He is the only Anderson in our school" Evelyn started squealing in excitement.

"Oh my god, I can't believe he feels the same way about me!"

Jordi smiled again. "I know, right?" She laughed a bit.

"Come on, let's get inside the cafeteria" Evelyn smiled so wide and walked in.

Jordi smiled back and followed.

Matt was sitting down still looking over at Mike who was laughing along with his new group of "friends".

Mara was doing the same, silently wondering why he was over there.

Suddenly, Mike stopped laughing as he seemingly listened in on something on the other three were whispering as they smirked.

Then, the four got up...and headed right for Matt and Mara.

"Oh no..." Matt mumbled.

"What the..?" Mara whispered.
