Mara was not too far behind. As soon as Mike knocked on the door, the yelling stopped. A pink haired girl who looked not much older then Mara answered. "Hello?"
"Hi, my name is Mike. I'm Mara's friend and I wanted to come with her home today. What's your name?" Mike said politely. He looked back at Mara.
Mara gave a reassuring smile. The lady at the door responded pretty quickly. "I'm Kata, I'm Mara's sister."
A male voice called from upstairs. "Who is it, Kata?!"
Kata just sighed.
"Oh..." Mike let out, quickly realizing what he got himself into. He looked back at Mara once more, feeling unsure. "Maybe I shouldn't step in..." He started, but then reconsidered.
Mara told me to come with her despite this situation. She either didn't wanna say no to me or she wants me to be with her for a change.
"You want me to come with you, M?"
"Oh uhm" She stepped into the house. "You said you wanted to come over. We're already here so"
Kata walked upstairs to talk to the male voice.
"I guess you have a point there" Mike conceded and carefully stepped inside the house.
Just like the whole neighborhood, the inside of the house was a complete mess. Another lady walked over to them. She looked much older then Mara but looked a lot like her. "Hello there" She held out her hand for Mike.
He looked at the woman and shook her hand. "Hello there, I'm Mara's friend, call me Mike". He kept looking behind him, just to make sure Mara is still with him.
Mara smiled at him. the lady smiled happily at Mike. "Nice to meet you. I am Dianna, Mara's mother"
"Nice to meet you too, Mrs Nakamura" He took Mara's hand in his and went to whisper in her ear. "We should go to your room, Mar"
Mara nodded a bit. "We'll be in my room". Before the two could get up the stairs, an older looking guy walked down them. He pulled the wife into the other room and the yelling resumed. Mara sighed a bit.
"Come on, let's go!" Mike whispered urgently, and walked up the stairs quickly, dragging Mara along with him.
Mara followed him quickly as well, leading him down the hall to the last room.
When he finally got inside the room, he let out a sigh of relief. "If the situation wasn't so serious, I would've teased you about being alone in your room, heh" He blushed a bit at the thought.
She laughed a bit, slightly blushing as well. Unlike the rest of the house, Mara's room was pretty clean. Artwork covering the walls as well as pictures of her and her mother.
"At least your room is nice..." He mumbled the next part to himself. "Like you..."
"Thanks" she smiled and sat down on her bed.
He saw this as an opportunity and sat across from her. It was time to have a serious conversation.
"Mara" He started firmly.
"Y-yeah?"
