"Uh guys, I intended for my idea to be executed now"
"Awe, little Matty doesn't wanna be with us" Asher joked.
"That's not it. I don't want mom and dad to freak out that I brought over five guests for dinner" Matt explained.
"Who said they need to know?"
Matt's house was starting to appear in the distance.
"I did. Now then, I'll see you guys soon. Don't kill each other" Matt started to walk away from the group, only to be stopped by Evelyn. "Hey, we're still meeting this weekend for our date, right Matt?" She asked.
Damn, Matt had almost forgotten. He would have to tell her that...
He shook his head, he'll save it for when the time comes. "Yes...Of course, Evelyn..." He replied apprehensively and speedwalked away from them.
Mike looked at his best friend, puzzled. "What the heck is going on with him?"
Asher shrugged. "Maybe he's nervous for the date"
Evelyn blushed. "I am too..."
Mike smiled at her. "Don't be. This is his first time, and he's a simple guy. Just be yourself" He said reassuringly.
Mara finally decided to speak up. "Y-yeah Eve, just be yourself and everything will go great"
Evelyn tried to smile out of gratitude but she ended up grimacing, mainly because Jordi didn't speak to her. The blonde nodded slowly. "Thank you...I should get going. My house's just around here" Eve waved at her friends before leaving.
Mara waved back. "I should get going as well. I'll see you guys later"
"Wait Mara" Mike walked up to her, smiling.
"Yeah?" Mara rose an eyebrow.
He leaned forward and pecked her cheek goodbye. "See you later, baby Mara"
She giggled a bit. "See you later, Mikey". And with that she walked off.
Mike sighed contentedly and looked back at Asher. "She's quite a girl"
Asher smiled. "That she is"
Jordi subtly waved at the two before walking off.
Mike's expression changed to confusion. "Jordi didn't get any better today, even when Mars tried to talk to her"
Asher sighed a bit. "Yeah.. I wonder what's up"
"I guess we have to wait and find out. Wanna keep going together for bit?"
He shrugged. "Sure, why not?"
He resumed walking. "So anything up with you?"
Asher once again shrugged. "Not much. How about you?"
"Ehhh, how're you and the others in our group getting along?" Mike inquired. He was always one to make sure there were good relations between his friends.
"I think pretty well" He shrugged a bit. "Everyone seems pretty nice"
"You know, I wanna take this moment to apologize about Matt. I know he can be annoying sometimes but he's a good friend...if you're okay with being dissed every once in a while but he means well. He just doesn't know how to express it well, you know" Mike rambled on.
"Oh don't worry about it, Mike. I'm somewhat warming up to him"
"Oh that's good to hear! I feared you were only tolerating him because of me" Mike let out a sigh of relief.
"No worries, Mikey. He's a cool guy, it just needs some time to warm up to him"
"Well, I hope he starts to see you in that light as well. You're a pretty cool guy too, you know"
Asher smiled a bit. "Thanks Mike"
Mike pulled out his fist for a fist bump. "See ya later, bro"
He reciprocated the fist bump. "Later, bro"
And the two remaining friends parted ways to meet another day with the other four...Unless of course, something were to happen...
