Not so fast, Melon! I'm the editor, remember? Anyways, here is our next chapter. Sorry again for taking so long. Enjoy!
Mara was sitting at her desk, drawing with her headphones in and ignoring the rest of the world. She glanced up as more people entered the class. They were talking and laughing.
She sighed.
What would it be like to be like that? Talked to. Acknowledged. Actually cared for.
She sighed again. A few people saw her staring at them and started whispering, so she looked back to her drawing. It was good. But she would never say it. She thought it was all wrong. Wrong here. Wrong there.
She just closed her book. The noises were getting louder and louder.
Just start class, please.
It was still a bit till class started. She loved studying people, learning their stories through their speech and body language. She really didn't do anything with it. She just found their lives more interesting than hers. Her life was...sad to say the least. Her parents always fought. Her brother was never at home, always out partying and getting drunk. Her sister and her girlfriend didn't live at home but Mara adored her sister.
As she watched, Mike and Matt walked in. Mike was always someone she just couldn't understand. She tried, but never had the courage to ask him about his life. She stayed silent and watched. She knew it was creepy but she just couldn't help wondering. She glanced over at Evelyn. She noticed her...staring? Mara didn't mention it.
Stay quiet and to yourself. No one needs to hear your dumb voice.
Mara hated her voice. It was lower than most girls, she hated how much she sounded like a guy. And her hair didn't help. She had the sides buzzed and it was like a fluff on the front of her face, her eye being covered with her hair. It was a boyish hair cut you could say. Jet black with red dyed at the end. She hated the looks she got but she had to just deal with them.
Jordi walked into class. She saw Mara and smiled.
Jordi had a small crush on Mara because of how quiet and secluded she was, but they never talked. Jordi would always chicken out and Mara barely even noticed her.
One day! She would always tell herself.
One day...
She sat down and stayed quiet, silently glancing at Mara. She would always get upset when she saw her looking at other people...
You're supposed to be mine..
As class started, she couldn't help but stare.
Look at her hair. An eye covered. I wonder if I'll be able to see what's under her hair one day. What if we kiss under a spotlight? Or fireworks?
Her mind ran on and on.
She couldn't help it. As class went on, her thoughts grew more and more... odd.
She wanted to be with Mara, but she didn't have the courage to say that so she sighed and finally paid attention.
As I said I hope you enjoyed. Im doing my best to get motivated to work. Please check out my Wattpad for more writing by me. And Give this Book a Vote if you enjoyed! Watermelon Out
