Down the halls at the entrance, Mara and Evelyn were making their way over, still carrying Mike. Eventually, they laid him down on the ground. Both girls holding him from his sides.
Mara looked at Eve. "W-what do we do?!"
"We have to stop the bleeding. You wouldn't happen to have anything we can use, do you?" Evelyn inquired as she hurriedly searched her own pockets for anything to use.
Mara quickly pulled out bandages she had in her pockets in case of "emergencies" and handed it to Eve.
Without questioning it, Evelyn took the bandages and wrapped them around Mike's wound before it would worsen.
"Okay okay, that's done...But we still have a problem" Evelyn felt panic rise in her.
Suddenly, the two girls heard a grunt...
"..I think..I know what to do..."
Mike woke up.
Mara's head shot over to look at Mike, worry and fear mixed in her expression.
Mike slowly tried to get up, but stopped when Evelyn warned him not to. He pulled out his phone.
"Here...call the police...and ambulance..."
Mara nodded and took the phone, then she freaked out and handed it to Eve.
Evelyn opened the phone and rapidly dialed 911. While she did that, Mike smiled weakly and looked at Mara.
"Glad to see you're okay..."
"Glad to see I'm ok? Mike, you're the one that got shot, I should be saying that to you"
"Still though, if me getting shot means that we're both okay, I'd take that option every time"
Mara sighed. "Mike, that was a seriously idiotic move back there. You had no weapons, no plan, you jumped at a girl with a gun, Mike"
He brought his hand up to her face. "I couldn't stand her talking about Matt like that...And you know how I'm like when my loved ones are hurt..."
Mara carefully pushed his hand away. "You still jumped at a girl with a gun with absolutely no plan"
"I'm sorry, Mara..."
Mara sighed again. "It's fine. I'm just glad your ok"
"Okay, thank you. Please hurry!"
Mike and Mara heard Evelyn and turn to see her hang up on the call.
"They're coming" She breathed a sigh of relief, and so did the other two.
Now they wait...
"You know, you were starting to grow on me...We all said we'd be there for you when you got detention. You couldn't pick a better time to change your face?"
Matt, although tired and beaten, would not let Jordi win the psychological fight. He persisted and got the words out after wiping away blood that started to drip from his head. He struggled to stand up and dodge the girl's attacks.
"I did what I did" The girl hissed out.
"And look how many people you dragged into your petty revenge! Your little game took live of people who had their whole life ahead of them! And you hurt all my friends, I'll make sure you never get to walk again after this!"
A strangely aggressive and protective side of Matt started to show up in the confrontation. He was disgusted, and he made sure Jordi knows it.
Jordi just glared at the boy. "Their whole life?! Those kids hurt Mara and Mike and Eve. Don't sit here and LIE to me that you didn't want to see them dead"
"I didn't want them dead, people can always change. In fact, you saw it for yourself! Nate and Rose became depressed after you killed their friend. There is care deep down inside of them, and you robbed them the time to grow that care and put it out there in the world!"
"They only changed because they saw that it doesn't last forever!! They wouldn't have given it ANY thought if Dexter didn't die"
"Have you forgotten they have other people in their lives? Their family, literally anybody! They could've learned it then in a peaceful manner, not the tragedy you bestowed upon them!"
"That wouldn't have been the same!! They needed someone close, someone THEIR AGE to go!!" There was a hint of crazy in her voice.
"They care about their families and their families care about them. That's all that matters, you deranged psycho!"
"I'm not the psycho here!!!"
"Taking kids away from their families is the undeniable proof!"
They soon stopped arguing and continued fighting physically, despite being pretty hurt at this point.
