Adorable Awkwardness

I hope you guys are ready for some Mikara! (Aka Mike/Mara, that's the ship name we came up with). Anyways, I have a small surprise: this chapter was released on Mara's birthday, according Melon so yay! (not in-universe, like, she was actually created today a year ago). I wish I remembered when I created my characters :'(

But yeah, happy birthday Mara! Enjoy the chapter now!

Mike had been walking to his house, sweating nervously. Sometimes, he wished he could hide how he feels well like Matthew. His insecurities got the better of him as he started having thoughts.

Would she even like this? Would she like me and do this again? Ugh, snap out of it, Mike! Just act cool and you'll be fine. Mara seems like a nice girl, she doesn't have a reason to turn me down! I think...

He shook his head and continued walking home.

Mara was walking to Mike's now, lost in her own thoughts.

What if he doesn't like me? What if it's all a joke created by the popular kids?

Instead of snapping out of her thoughts, she got even more lost.

When Mike got to his home, Mara was already there. She looked too lost in thought so that's probably why she didn't notice him.

He took a deep breath and approached her carefully.

"Hi..." He started sweating and blushing a bit.

Oh god, here we go...

She snapped out of her thoughts and turned to him, slightly blushing.

"H-hey there"

"I see you got here faster than me. Congrats, heh..." He smiled at her.

She smiled a bit back "Yup. Guess you can say I'm a fast walker"

"I bet I'm even faster when I'm nervous" He giggled.

"Which I was on my way here..."

She gave him a small smile. "No need to be nervous"

"You can't deny you're nervous on the first d- uh, outing, outing! On the first outing, yeah" Mike mentally facepalmed at his slip up. She definitely thought he was weird now.

She rose an eyebrow but didn't mention it. She shrugged. "True, I guess"

"Well, let's get going, shall we?" He started walking to avoid making another stupid mistake.

"Where do you want to go?"

She followed and shrugged. "I'm okay with anything"

"Oh. Okay" Mike tapped his chin as he thought about where he could take her.

"You know, we don't have to go to one place. We can just take a walk around town" He suggested.

"I'm okay with that" She smiled.

"Great!"

And with that, they went off. Mike was busy listing off places they could go to in his mind.

After a little, Mara's nerves got in the way and she accidentally tripped over her own shoe.

She would've fell down, but instead, she was now leaning over against someone's body that intervened with her fall. Arms were gently wrapped around her.

She blushed a bit.

Mike looked down at her. She felt so tiny in his arms. He blushed as well. When he finally regained his composure, he chuckled and gave her a teasing quip.

"I told you, you're nervous as well, love"

Yeesh, did I really call her that?

She blushed more.

"I-I guess they w-were. My legs, I mean"

He slowly pulled away from her, giggling at her remark. "Sorry about that. I didn't want you to eat the sidewalk"

She stood up straight, awkwardly rubbing the back of her neck. "No worries. Thanks for catching me"

"You're very welcome, Mara" He continued to walk, unsure of how he managed to get through that.

"So uh, I was thinking of where to go and I could name a few places like the park, the mall and uh...what else?"

She shrugged a bit and followed in his walking. "I'm not sure"

"Let's go to these two and then we'll figure it out"

"Okie dokie"

Honestly, Mikara is the cutest thing on earth. Fight me.

We don't have a date set for the next chapter but we will try our best to get to the juicy bits if you catch my meaning ;3
