Hi guys, we're really sorry this chapter took a while. Both of us are busy right now and it sucks ;-; BUT ANYWAYS, LET'S DO THIIIS
I wrote this entirely on my own btw cuz I'm boss like that insert sunglasses. No just kidding, it's because only my characters are featured here.
To say that Matthew was intimidated by the size of the Millers' residence when he saw it for the first time would be a major understatement. Literally, it looked like a mansion that only the rich live in.
"Looks like I got myself into a huge mess..." Matt remarked to himself. He slowly made his way to the front door and knocked nervously on the door.
The boy could hear a girlish voice yell from the inside then the door swung open, and Evelyn was facing him.
"Matthew!" She gave him a hug that almost looked like a tackle. They almost stumbled back onto the ground if it weren't for Matt reciprocating her hug and holding her tightly.
"Yeah, hi Evelyn, it's so good to see you" Evelyn was clearly blushing when they pulled away, starting to feel butterflies in her stomach. Matthew however, didn't realize he was blushing as well and that made the blonde giggle when she saw it.
"What? Why are you laughing?" He questioned with a raised eyebrow.
"You're even cuter when you're embarrassed" She replied.
The boy put a hand up to his cheek and felt the heat in them. He shrugged it off as a result of a lack of physical contact on his part.
"Thanks I guess...Uhm, shall we go in?" Matt scratched the back of his neck. Every moment that passed killed him slowly on the inside.
It'll be a miracle if I walked out of that door by the end of the day. He thought.
"Oh right! Yes, of course. Let's go see my dad!" Evelyn chirped cheerfully. If only she was aware of how much pain Matt held inside him.
The two walked inside, Evelyn taking a few steps forward before she noticed that Matt was not following her. It looked like he was too nervous (understatement).
Evelyn walked back and took his hand in hers.
"Oh come on, Matt. My father will love you! I know that for sure" She reassured him. Firstly, Matthew was in an awkward position, looking at their intertwined hands together that he almost didn't hear her comfort him. But something about Evelyn's smile told him she was trying too hard to be cheerful. Granted, she was always cheerful anytime he saw her but she was almost borderline sounding desperate at this point.
He had no time nor was he in the place to question it so he just smiled and nodded at her.
"Thank you..."
Evelyn nodded at him and started dragging him to the living room. It was large with a lot of things decorating it.
"Wow uh...I like your house" Matt commented, looking around.
"Thank you! My dad and I love to decorate our house and such!" Evelyn explained.
Matt nodded and continued looking around, till his eyes landed on a small framed picture that showed two adults, a male and a female along with a blonde young girl.
Thinking back on what Evelyn said, she never mentioned her mom. Obviously, he already knew that she was an orphan because news travel fast in school but to sit down and think about a cute and upbeat girl being orphaned at a young age sent a pang to his chest. Matt would've asked her about it but the situation was already awkward enough for him that it would just become worse if it got sentimental. He did make a mental note to discuss it at one point in private.
Poor girl...At least her dad doesn't look scary, heh...
His thoughts were interrupted by a gruff male voice calling out Evelyn's name.
"Is everything ready down there?!"
"Yes, dad! He's here!" Evelyn answered back, and footsteps started coming from upstairs.
And Matt started feeling like he could have a heart attack any second now.
Oh boy....Here we go...
Could you actually imagine meeting your girlfriend's dad? Scary stuff, man. Poor Matt :<
Anyways! Studies are starting so I'm gonna be quite busy. School is back for Watermelon as well so we don't know when we'll be able to write but we'll try our best because we love you guys :>
