Intertwined

He/She Is Not My Boy/Girlfriend!

The first thing that Matt did when he stepped inside school was breathe a sigh of relief that he could still walk. Maybe he was over exaggerating because Mr Miller actually was as kind as his daughter but still, he was a fierce man.

"I am grateful" He mumbled to himself as he walked inside. His peaceful thoughts were interrupted by a cheerful voice.

"Good morning, Matt!"

He turned around to face Evelyn. He had to admit, she was looking kinda cute. Some of her long blond hair was tied to the side, and some of it covered her eye.

Snap out of it, Anderson He told himself, but he would keep his snarky thought to himself in favor of replying and avoid looking like a sleep deprived idiot.

"Good morning, M...Evelyn"

The girl smiled at him and leaned forward to plan a peck on his cheek. Matt's face warmed up like before but he shook it off again. He just wasn't used to it yet.

"How are you doing today?" She asked.

"Oh, I'm doing fine. Thank you, little one" He replied, after snapping out of his haze.

Evelyn giggled and blushed a little. Matt raised a brow at this.

"What's so funny?"

"I like that pet name, Matty" She replied, still giggling.

"Pet name?"

"Yeah! That's something you call your girlfriend or boyfriend by" She explained cheerfully.

"Oh? I see. I like yours as well"

"I'm glad"

Mara was making her way down the hallway, her headphones in like usual. But today was anything but usual, but she didn't know that now.

I really enjoyed my time with her. How do I tell her how I feel?

This is what Mike was thinking when he was walking down the hallway. In fact, he was thinking about it so hard that he almost didn't notice Mara pass by him, nearly bumping into her.

"Oh hi...Uh, good morning...Sorry about that" He giggled nervously.

A small smile appeared on her face, she took out her headphones, pausing her song

"Hey. Don't worry about it"

"Whatcha listening to, Mars?" Mike pointed to her headphones as he asked the question.

"Oh. Just My Chemical Romance" She was about to continue when a voice interrupted.

Dexter's voice was the first to speak."Ooooh. Look at the lovebirds"

Mike was about to comment on her response before getting interrupted. He turned around to see his "friend" and laughed.

"It's uhm....It's not like that, Dex"

He walked over and leaned against Mike's shoulder . "Sure it's not, Mikey"

A small dusting of blush fell onto Mara's cheeks.

"Yes, I'm sure" He slowly pulled away from him.

"Where are Nate and Rose, by the way? You three said you were busy the other day"

Dexter motioned down the hall, the two mentioned were making their way down the hall.

Mara slightly tensed up. Nothing good can come from these three.

Mike looked down where Dex motioned and smiled. "Good to see you guys, let's get going to class, yeah?"

A smirk formed onto Nate's face. "Why don't you bring your little girlfriend with us, Mikey?"

Her blush grew a bit.

Mike sighed in aggravation. "She's not...you know what? Never mind" He lifted his hands up in defeat.

Mike had been oblivious to Mara tensing up.

"You wanna come, M?"

"U-uhm" Her voice was a bit shaky.

"Come on. Don't you wanna be with your boyfriend?"

This just caused her to blush more."H-he isn't my boyfriend"

"It's fine if you don't wanna. Don't listen to him" Mike said jokingly.

She glanced over at Mike, trying to read his face. She wanted to go but knew nothing good could come from the other three. "I'll be fine. Thanks"

Mike looked at everyone and nodded. "That settles it then. Let's go"

Dexter smirked. "See ya later, Mike's girlfriend"

She sighed. "I have a na-.. Never mind"

"Shut up, man" Mike shoved him lightly then turned around to wave at Mara as he walked away.

She waved back and put her headphones back in, walking in the direction of her class.
