If there's no one beside you when your soul embarks
Then I'll follow you into the dark
------------------------------------------------------------------------------------------------
Fully clothed, Alice and Loki laid on the bed next to each other, their gazed fixated on the ceiling.
"Loki?" she called, making him turn to his side so he could look at her. "Why do you hate your family so much?"
He sighed, "They are not my family, and I would rather not discuss it, at least not right now. I want to cherish our time together before Odin returns to take you to Midgard. We might not see each other for quite some time. Let's savour it, my love."
"I'm sorry," she murmured, fearing she had upset him.
"Don't be, it's fine."
Suddenly, an explosion coming from the outside of the cage was heard. Loki positioned himself in front of Alice, shielding her from the unfolding chaos. This protective act was entirely uncharacteristic for Loki, who had never thought he would put himself at risk to protect someone. As the black curtain disappeared, Loki's gaze revealed a newfound concern, challenging the very core of his character. He clasped with the realization that, for the first time, someone else's safety had become a priority over his own self-interest.
A prisoner had breached its cage, engaging in a fight with the guards.
"Loki..."
"Don't worry. I'm sure the guards will put him back into his cage soon", he reassured.
The escaped prisoner quickly defeated the guards and started breaking the barriers of the other cages. Soon there were criminals roaming free in the halls. Loki took a step closer to the barrier of his cage and stared at the escaped prisoner.
"Stay behind me, Alice."
Ignoring him, she stood by his side. "Are you forgetting that I am stronger than you, puny god?" she teased, prompting a laugh from him.
The first prisoner who escaped locked eyes with Loki, none of them breaking off eye contact.
"Is he gonna release us too?" Alice inquired but received no response.
After a moment, the prisoner left, seeking an exit from the dungeons.
The prisoner left after a few seconds, trying to find a way to escape the dungeons.
"You might want to take the stairs to the left," Loki offered, leaving Alice astonished.
Once the prisoner ascended the stairs, Alice quickly pressed Loki against the wall, her arm against his neck. "Why the fuck would you tell him that, Loki?"
