I want to hold you close
Skin pressed against me tight
Lie still, and close your eyes girl
So lovely, it feels so right

Months had passed by since Alice embarked on her rogue path. She'd ascended to the pinnacle of mercenaries, renowned throughout Union Bar as Indigo, the name synonymous with efficiency and ruthlessness. Indigo was the go-to for any task, no matter how infamous – from heists to assassinations, she embraced them all. Her repertoire of jobs multiplied, amassing a considerable fortune, yet she avoided spending money. Instead, she lived in a modest apartment atop Union Bar, courtesy of Hiroshi, the establishment's owner, and bartender, who harboured a soft spot for her.
Initially, Hiroshi's assignments confined her to Japan. But once her expertise became apparent, she entrusted her with internation contracts. Her first venture beyond borders led her to Lisbon, Portugal, where she was tasked with killing Ana and José Gomes, kingpins of a massive trafficking network. Without hesitation, she killed them, plunging her knives into their hearts, a testament for her rigid determination.
Despite her time in Tokyo, she had no friendships, excluding Hiro, although reluctantly. To her, he was merely a mean to her ends – nothing more, nothing less.
"What do you have for me, Hiro?" she inquired as she settled onto a stool at the bar. "It's been two weeks since my last job, and I could use the cash."
"Do you? Really?" Hiroshi countered, polishing his glasses methodically. "You barely spend any money. Your contractors pay for the expenses of the jobs, and you barely pay any rend. Money isn't your true motivation."
"Come on, Hiro. Don't be like that," she implored. The assignments served as her refuge, a relief from the torment of her past – Forsaken, losing Loki, months of torture, Pietro's death, and the truth about her parents. Amidst the wreckage of her life, the only thing that distracted her was killing bad people.
"Listen, Indigo," Hiroshi interjected gently, "You're amazing at your job, but even the strongest fighters need rest. Take a breather. Treat yourself. You're not invincible."
"I don't break," Indigo retorted, rising abruptly. "If you won't give me a job, I'll find it elsewhere."
"Wait," Hiroshi implored, halting her exit. "Kyiv. A cartel there has been selling a new dangerous drug. It has killed a lot of people already with a single dose."
"I'll take care of it. Thanks, Hiro," she replied, rushing upstairs, only to pause at his parting words.
"You know, Indigo, you're not a bad person," he mused.
