As we go on we remember

All the times we had together

And as our lives change

Come whatever

We will still be friends forever

Upon their return to the Avengers tower, Doctor Helen Cho promptly tended to the wounds of Alice and Clint, utilizing her regeneration machine to mend their cells together. She took the opportunity to teach the intricate process of how her regeneration cradle worked to Alice, Clint, and Nat.

"Oh, they're flat lining," Tony remarked, entering the room with a tray of drinks. "Call it. Time?"

"No, no, no, I'm gonna live forever," Clint quipped, "I'm gonna be made of plastic."

"Here's your beverages," Tony handed them each a cup.

"You'll be made of you, Mr Barton," reassured Doctor Cho. "Your own girlfriend won't be able to tell the difference."

"I don't have a girlfriend," Clint took a sip of his drink.

"That no one can fix," Alice teased, earning a chuckle from Clint.

Steve entered the room and approached the stretcher where Alice was. "Is she done?" he asked Doctor Cho, who nodded. "We need to talk, Alice."

"I know, I know," she said, getting up from the stretcher and following Steve. They retreated to a separate room adjacent to the previous one. "I assume you wanna talk about Bucky, am I right?"

"I do wanna talk about him, but I need to know if you're alright first," Steve leaned against a table. "You were tortured for almost nine months straight. That took a toll on you, no matter how strong you think you are."

Alice sighed took a deep breath, her gaze fixed on some distant point as she began to speak. "I'll admit it, okay? Those months felt like an eternity, a descent into the darkest corners of my own mind. The physical pain was unbearable, each moment stretching into an agonizing eternity. They wanted to break me, to make me betray everyone, especially Bucky."

Her eyes clouded with the haunting recollections, "For hours on end, they'd question me relentlessly, looking for information about Bucky's whereabouts. Sometimes they would just torture me for fun. But no matter how many times they hurt me, I couldn't betray him. And even if I wanted, I didn't even know where he was. We split up in Italy."

A bitter smile played on her lips as she continued, "The first few months were the worst. The torture was brutal, and they seemed determined to strip away every ounce of humanity I had. But, eventually, I found a way to disassociate myself from the pain. It was the only way to survive, Steve. That's why, when you found me, I was muttering Loki's name – my mind had created some kind of sanctuary, a happy life with Loki."
