These nights never seem to go to plan

I don't want you to leave, will you hold my hand?

Alice and Bucky found purpose in their days in Wakanda, helping those in need. Whether it was carrying heavy things, fixing stuff, even look out for the cattle, they threw themselves into service with gratitude. Their efforts were fuelled by a desire to express gratitude for the profound generosity the Wakandans had shown them, but that was a debt they could never repay.

Shuri and her team of brilliant scientists had performed miracles, restoring Alice and Bucky the lives they had once thought forever lost. It was a gift beyond measure.

In the tranquil nights of their newfound freedom, Alice often found comfort in Bucky, occasionally walking towards his hut, and sleeping next to him. There was a comforting familiarity in his presence that eased her troubled mind. For a handful of nights, this ritual persisted, offering Alice fleeting moments of peace. Yet, after some time, she made a conscious decision to stop, fearing she might be impinging on Bucky's space.

Meanwhile, Bucky couldn't help but miss the warmth of Alice's body pressed against his own, her gentle caresses calming him into a sense of security. He couldn't shake the feeling that she had gotten tired of him, choosing to distance herself rather than address the situation.

As they navigated the complexities of their evolving relationship, messages from Steve and Natasha served as a reminder of the world they had left behind. Each message carried a reassurance of their safety. They knew if they didn't tell Alice about their whereabouts, she would come looking for them, which was not the best thing to do at the time.Parte superior do formulário

"You need help with that?" Alice inquired, spotting Bucky carrying bales of hay meant to feed the wandering goats nearby.

"I'm fine," he replied shortly, not bothering to meet her gaze. Undeterred, Alice huffed and moved to his side, picking up four bales of hay in one go. "It's okay, Alice. I can do this alone, Bucky insisted.

"I know you can," she half-smiled, "but this way will be faster. Plus, it'll leave us more time for the little surprise I have planned."

Bucky paused, regarding her with suspicion. "What are we gonna do?"

"Relax, old man," Alice teased, her tone light, "we're just going out to dinner, nothing more."

"And what about-" Bucky started to ask, his concern evident.

"I've already spoken to T'Challa, Shuri, and Ayo," she interrupted, waving off his worries, "it's okay as long as we don't leave the country." A mischievous grin played on her lips as she added, "Besides, I could have left a long time ago if I wanted to and they wouldn't even notice until I was on the other side of the planet."
