The Unwanted Encounter (Ash Lynx x Reader)

11) Time of death, 12:32.

Since you weren't able to sleep that well, you decided to check up on Griffin. It was 7 in the morning. Shorter and Eiji were still sleeping so you quietly tip toed out of the basement and made your way out of Chang Dai using the back door trough the kitchen, but you encountered a certain beautiful Chinese woman with really short hair. You were skeptical about her at first but you got acquainted with her and learned she was Shorter's older sister. You couldn't believe how a smart woman like her could be Shorter's older sister but oh well. She made you some breakfast which tasted like heaven and gave you a new pair of t-shirt since the shirt you wore yesterday was a little soaked by blood because of your bleeding arm. She even offered to fix your bandage up but you didn't need to since you were going over to doctor Meredith's anyways. 

"Yeah, Shorter can be a handful but he can be understanding behind his flirty and annoying side"

"Yeah i noticed" You said chuckling. "Well thank you for making me breakfast, i'm heading over to doctor Meredith right now so you don't need to fix the bandage"

"Sure, anything for Shorter's friends. Also, he has told me a lot of stories about your coffee, i'll be waiting for my coffee some day"

You made your way to the door and gave her a slight smile. "A coffee it is then, one day. Take care Nadia, oh could you tell Shorter i'll  be at doctor Meredith's clinic when he wakes up?"

"I will, goodbye" Said Nadia waving you off.

You quickly arrived at doctor Meredith's clinic and went over to where Griffin was laying down. Since doctor Meredith trusted you enough, he gave you extra keys to his clinic so you easily got in. You noticed that doctor Meredith took care of the gunshot in his chest and properly wrapped his chest up. You pulled a chair near Griffin's bed and sat down holding his hand.

You closed your eyes and thought about the precious memories you shared with Griffin back when life was normal. Your parents considered Max and Griffin family and when they were serving in Europe for a while, they'd sometimes come over to your house to have dinner with you and your mother. You quickly grew accostumed to Griffin and Max. You saw Griffin more as a big broter and Max like a father figure. You loved them both, a lot, and you slowly started seeing them as family.

When you got the news of Griffin's and your father's death, you were really devastated and frustrated. You were even more devastated when you found out Max was the one who shot them both but you figured out he didn't have a choice and you knew that the three of them were really close so shooting Griffin and your father must have been hard on Max. But now that you had found Griffin back after 4 years, you wouldn't accept his death. You had a lot of questions, and the only thing you cared about was getting answers and avenging your parents.

A few hours had passed and you felt someone's precense in the room. When you looked up you was doctor Meredith, Shorter and Eiji staring at you. You took your hands of Griffin's and greeted them. Doctor Meredith properly stitched your arm up since you still hadn't taken care of your stab wound and discussed about Griffin's physical state.

"Doc, did you put some of the drug aside like i told you that day?"

"Yeah i did, it was a smart desicion. I studied the drug and got some weird results"

He was about to say something but a Japanese man named Ibe barged in scolding Eiji on how reckless he was to go to Chinatown alone. After their little reunion doctor Meredith continued about his analysis on the mysterious drug.

"So far i've figured out it's a hallucinogen like LSD. LSD symptoms last up to 8 hours, but this one lasted for 24 hours, or perhaps even longer. The experiments on the rats didn't last long, they all died. They became violent and began to excessively hurt themselves. In other words, suicide"
