After the show in the diner, you and the rest were on the road to Los Angeles. Ash fixed your gunshot wound as he kept asking every other second "Does it hurt?" You just rolled your eyes and scolded him for worrying too much. Every few hours or so, you guys would stop at local drug stores to buy some snacks and necessities. You had to convince Max and the rest to stop at gym's every 2 days or so to take showers since you couldn't handle bad hygiene. Not to mention, you basically killed Shorter's living braincells as you and Eiji told him about anime shows both you had watched.

You hated the fact you kept growing closer to everyone around you. Staying rude to Eiji wasn't working anymore since it felt illegal to be mean to someone as innocent as Eiji. His smile was so pure and genuine, you couldn't help yourself anymore. You and Shorter were like long long best friends. With your matching hair colour and goofy humour, you both entertained Ibe and Eiji in the back of the truck playing UNO or Monopoly. Yes, you forced them to buy games since you couldn't handle the boredom anymore. Ibe was like another father figure to you who made sure you got few hours of sleep and ate well. Every few hours or so you'd switch with Max and take over the truck so he could rest. You tried driving the truck without any casualties, emphasis on tried. Every time you switched with Max, Ash's mood automatically lightened up. You both would put on some music on the iPod you gave Ash and listen to it in peace staring at the view outside as you drove. You tried keeping your eyes on the road but couldn't since you kept staring at the blonde in awe as he looked so peaceful looking outside the window enjoying the quiet. He looked like a normal teen and not someone who was forced in to prostitution, someone who had to make up a name so people would respect him, someone who had to protect theirselves against Golzine's enemies and Golzine himself.

"Y/n eyes on the road" Scolded Ash still looking outside trough the window.

"..."

"..."

"I- how you.. Ok." You said mentally facepalming yourself as you got caught again staring at him. You heard him snicker as you stuttered and got embarrassed. Your cheeks quickly turned red and the blonde obviously noticed it.

"Aww is y/n blushing?" He teased in a singing tone.

"S-Shut up, i'm not" You answered pouting which lead to Ash teasing you even more.

"That's odd" Said Max as he looked at the map flipping it upside down, and down-up again.

"It's supposed to be around here. I'm sick of riding in this truck" Complained Shorter leaning against the truck. "My ass is hard as a rock" Said Shorter as you looked weirdly at him.

"True, we've been in it for almost a week now" Said Eiji sitting on the ground.

"I'm hungry i want some food" Continued Shorter still complaining.

"Oh my walls stop complaining Shorter" You said smacking his head.

"Ouch"

"That's what you get for whining like a baby"

"You're not my mother"

"All the more reason i should smack you more" You said sticking your tongue out. You heard Ash get out of the truck slightly gasping while taking his gun out. You subconsciously took a switch blade out of your cargo jeans and turned around, ready to throw hands at anyone.

"Who are you?" You said in a monotone voice as you saw someone with a flashlight and a weird bucket hat walking towards you guys.

"You tell me. Who are you guys?" The man asked. You raised your eyebrow about to say something but Shorter put his hand on your shoulder gesturing you to calm down and put the knife away since the man was no potential danger.

"Can you tell us how to get to Los Angeles?" Asked Max running towards the man.

"What? You are in Los Angeles" Said the stranger.

"We are?" Ash and Max asked in sync, dumfounded.

You guys walked over to a little hill stunned by the view Los Angeles had to offer.

"Sugoii" You said taking the beautiful scenery in.

"This is incredible" Said Max and Ibe together. Ibe took his camera out and captured the scenery.

"What a view!" Screamed Shorter.

"Wow it's beautiful" Said Eiji looking awestruck.

You walked over to Ash, standing next to him. "It's so beautiful" Said Ash still looking at the view. You hummed in response and slightly smiled at him. The moonlight illuminating his bright green eyes, the wind swaying his hair every direction possible made the scenery thousand times better.

"Your hair Ash" You said ruffling it while laughing.

"You're the one to say" Said the blonde trying to fix his hair.

"Oh you didn't" You said pouting.

"Oh yes i did" He said. You laughed at the way he looked for a moment and sat on the hill, dangling your feet on the edge.

"Oi be careful" Ash said making sure you won't fall off the little hill.

"Yes motherrr" You said rolling your eyes. You patted the empty place next to you and gestured him to sit next to you. The blonde made his way next to you as you both sat a few inches away from each other. At this point all the others made their way back to the truck so you and Ash were the only ones left.

"Aslan" You broke the silence in a serious tone. Ash looked at you, surprised by how the tone of the way you were speaking changed so drastically. "Thank you for taking me here with you. The past week has been amazing with everyone. But i sense danger. I feel like it's the quiet before the storm right now. If shit goes south, i want you to promise me something"

You sighed and looked at him, staring straight in to his eyes. "If there's ever a situation where you have to choose between me and you, choose yourself. If you have to choose between me and Eiji, always choose Eiji over me. Be selfish and make wise decisions Aslan. Don't worry about me, make sure Ibe, Max and Eiji are okay, alright? Don't let them get harmed, please." You said.

Silent, it was silent between you and the blonde. Ash looked at you, trying to process the words you just said. He stared at your (e/c) eyes, trying to make it make sense, but it didn't make sense. He tried coming up with an explanation for what you just said, still, nothing. It didn't click with him.

"Hellooow, Ash you there?" You asked him breaking him out of his thoughts when you noticed he didn't answer you. You knew he'd have a reaction like that so you already mentally prepared yourself for this conversation.

"Why?" Was all the blonde could muster up.

You sighed and brought your knees to your chest, hugging yourself as the cold made you slightly shiver. "Because i don't deserve it" You simply said. The blonde looked at you dumfounded, not understanding a thing you said.

"They all got caught in stuff they shouldn't have, Ash. They don't deserve it and if there's ever a situation someone has to get hurt, let it be me" You said.

"But what do you mean that you don't deserve it" Asked Ash gritting his teeth.

"I'm not an angel, i've done a lot of shit i shouldn't have. I believe that you all deserve better than this. Once this all is over, live your life in a peaceful way" You said as you got up.

Ash reached for your hand to get up and looked at your almost teary eyes. "No, i don't promise stuff i can't keep." Is all he said before walking to the truck.

What was that for? The blonde questioned himself still extremely confused by the bomb you dropped on him.
