"Old hag."
"Blondie."
"This is exactly why you wear a jacket outside! See, now the old hag caught a fever."
"Umm, I don't think you catch a fever by not wearing a jacket outside." I said, wiping the tears away that formed in my eyes due to the cold.
"Oh, please. This is your fault. How many times have I told you to wear a jacket!"
"Jeee, take a chill pill, mother."
"Not this nickname again."
"Whatever." I rolled my eyes, sinking deeper in the duvet as Ash fed me soup. "Funny isn't it, Thee Ash Lynx feeding an old hag soup."
"Oh shut up, y/n. You can barely even function right now."
"Stop overreacting. I just caught a fever, nothing more."
"I'm not. You can barely even go to the bathroom without fainting every step." Ash complained, shoving another spoon in my mouth, furrowing his eyebrows.
I sighed, grabbing the almost empty bowl from Ash's hand. "I guess you're right. I just need to sleep it off and I'll be fine again."
"I'm sorry, I can't bring you to a doctor."
"It's fine, Aslan. I'm not dying."
"Okay." Ash sighed, getting up from the kneeling position he sat in whilst feeding me soup. "Max is coming over. I thought you'd get bored and in need of company." Ash said, putting his light blue jeans jacket on. "I'm going out to meet Alex. Is that alright?"
"Yeah, sure." I said, putting the empty bowl on the nightstand. I can tell you're lying, Ash. Because whenever you lie, you become terribly calm. You're hiding something important.
"See you later." Ash said, leaving my room, eventually closing the apartment door, locking it behind him.
'See you later.' Ash said. All I can do is trust those words. Please, don't do something stupid, Ash. I can't even stop you anymore. I love you. I love you, too much.
————Honestly, how dumb was I even to believe he wouldn't do anything stupid? How dumb could I be. He didn't return to me after that day.
'See you later.' He said. But when, Ash. When?
"We're standing out, aren't we?" Kong remarked as Alex, Bones and I walked in the Chinese's territory.
"They're still mad at us about Shorter, so don't fight back." Alex sternly said, looking forward at the lot of the Chinese gang. "Are you sure Sings knows something?" He finally asked me, a little bit of uncertainty clouding his eyes.
"Yes." I answered in monotone, my hands clenching and unclenching themselves in my jacket. We finally walked up to the Chinese's gang members, the fact they weren't happy to see us, was an understatement.
"What's that smell? Are there pigs around here?" Commented one of them, walking up to me and the rest of the boys behind me.
"We're not here to fight. We want to meet your boss, Sing." I said, an uninterested and serious expression etched on my face the moment I stepped foot outside for the first time in weeks.
"A girl like you shouldn't be mingling with gangs. Is this woman one of your guys'? It seems like Ash Lynx is desperate." The guy commented, already pulling the thin threads I was hanging on mentally and desperately since Ash had been missing.
"Shut your fucking mouth." I said, my tone not too high, nor too low. A threatening tone.
"Yeah? You want some of this?" The guy said, pulling out a pocket knife, throwing it and catching it mid air.
