Since the blonde and I got to sleep really late at around 4 am, we naturally woke up late aswel at 2 pm. By the time both of us were already extremely tired, we were too lazy to move around and sleep on a proper bed. So we decided to sleep on the couch, across each other. The ringing of Ash's phone had woken the both of us up at around 2pm. Ash grunted as he sat up on the couch, so did I as I stared at the phone screen which laid on the coffee table.
"It's Cain." I said after glancing at the phone and passing it to Ash. He combed trough his hair with his fingers and sat droopily on the couch, hating the fact he had gotten woken up.
"Yes, okay. Tonight? I'll be there. Bye." Said Ash, before hanging up and putting his phone away.
"What was it about?" I asked, already knowing the answer.
"The fight between Arthur and me."
Silent, it was silent between the two of us. I sat across him on the couch, and looked at nothing in particular. He has to fight Arthur.. today. He has to fight Arthur.
"Look y/n I promi-"
"Where.. Where is the fight happening?" I asked, interrupting him.
"East Broadway Station. The F line is under construction, so it'll be shut down then. It's a blind spot in the city." Said Ash, sighing. "Y/n I'm-"
"I see. I know what you're about to say next so don't.. I won't follow after you then. Just.." I sighed. "Just make sure to come back here with a beating heart."
"I will." Said Ash, resting his head in his hands. But I could tell he said that hesitantly. I sighed and stood up, walking to my room which I still hadn't entered and just dropped down on the creeking, dirty bed. He has to fight Arthur and he might not come back alive.
————Arthur can't sneak his men is as long as they guard the entrances, but I know for a fact he got something dirty up in his sleeve. Should I.. No. I should trust Ash. He did promise me that he'd come back safe. But he hesitated. He hesitated for the first time before promising me something. Ash you asshole.. How am I supposed to trust you if you're gonna do this to me.
I punched the wall in my bedroom and felt it vibrate beneath my fists. "Fuck it." I cursed underneath my breath. I grabbed my knives (With knives, I mean a good bunch of them.) and gun, and stored them in my lose white cargo jeans underneath my black oversized t-shirt. One thing I learnt was, one knife is never enough. It's better to have the upperhand at a battle with the element of surprise. For some reason, people don't expect you to be guarded with multiple weapons when you have a hand-to-hand combat with them, which never sat right with me.
With experience, I've never really needed the element of surprise, since I was always strong enough to come out unharmed out of a fight. But there were some cases where I had wished that I'd had the element of surprise to win over my oponent more smoother and quicker. Thus, the reason why I always carried multiple knives. I was good with guns too, but knives are much easier when you're in a close-combat-fight, and less noisier, unless you have a gun silencer, which wasn't that easy to find.
I threw my white jean-jacket on and styled my hair in a way it wouldn't bother me whilst fighting. I looked at the time; 01.07 am. The fight doesn't start till 3am. I should be there earlier. I stuffed my hands in my jacket and clutched hard on to the switchblade which rested in one of the pockets. Ash is going to kill me when he sees me there.
————I finally arrived at East Broadway Station and walked down the stairs, stopping when I saw, who I assumed, Chinese gang members.
"Hey stop there! Who are you?" Asked one of the men, holding a knife in his hand and taking a step forward towards me.
