Ash and I sat in Cain's hideout, doing nothing in particular. I kept myself occupied by reading a book I found laying around, Ash scrolled through his phone sitting not too far away from me. Everything was quiet. Nothing in particular happened that peaked our interests. But there was one thing where Ash's mind hung, and I could tell it was driving him crazy inside.

"How are the Chinese doing?" Ash asked once Cain entered the room.

"Like always, why?" He asked, taking a seat in front of Ash.

"Don't you think it's strange? They were locked up in an obvious place. If it was a trap to capture Sing, why were there so few men there?" Ash began ruminating his thoughts he kept thinking about the whole time.

"Now that you mention it.." Cain said, trailing in on his thoughts.

"If they'd let Sing's guys go on purpose.. Then.." Ash started trailing off, overthinking even more like he usually did.

"You're overthinking it. The guy that Sing trusts the most said-" Cain started, before getting interrupted by one of his distraught men.

"Boss! They shot Killer Bee!" Said Cain's righthand man, distraught, as he barged in the room where we sat in.

"What?!"
————

"Who did it, the Chinese?" Cain asked, looking at the state of the shot man. Killer Bee grunted, breathed heavily, shuddered from the pain uncontrollably.

"N-No. They were white guys in suits." The man with the nickname Killer Bee muttered out, squirming from the pain.

"Golzine's men, then." Cain muttered, holding Killer Bee's hand.

"Boss, they got Harlem Chicken too!" Said Cain's righthand man from a distance, again, distraught and shocked by his friends being shot.

"Damn it, how do they know where our hideouts are?" Cain fisted his fists, looking at Sing and Lao who stood next to me. "You guys better not have ratted us out."

"Say that again and-" Lao began, raising his finger at Cain.

"Lao!" Sing held on to Lao, preventing him from taking a step closer to Cain and potentially starting a fight with him.

"Drop it, Cain!" I put my hand on his shoulder, squeezing it, reminding him of Ash's and my presence to help him out.

"Sorry. Forget I ever said that." Cain apologized, standing up as he looked at Sing and Lao, trying to be as sincere as possible for his rude remark.

"Let's go check the place out." Ash said upon everything had calmed down around us. Sing and Lao accepted Cain's apology without much brawl, leaving Cain, Ash and me alone.

"Don't tell anyone what I told you guys, we can't fall out now. But keep your eyes on them." Ash told Cain, staring at the badly shot man who still suffered in the agony of pain. I had offered him some water for comfort, but couldn't do anything helpful in particular since there wasn't anything helpful to do other than to stay alert for the hell that was about to take place.

We arrived at Cain's bar where his men and he usually hung out. The whole place was messed up. Bullets laid around everywhere and the furniture was disoriented.

"Damn those bastards." I heard Cain curse again for the umpteenth time, entering the vandalized bar.

"5.56 millimeters cartridges. They were armed with assault rifles, it wasn't an impulsive attack." I crouched down, inspecting the bullets in my hand.

Ash gasped out of nowhere, jumping over the bar-counter with Cain. "Watch out!" He warned me before throwing his gun mid-air.

"They're back!" Cain said, warning me before ducking down behind the counter to avoid the gunshots being shot at us unexpectedly. Since I was already standing behind a pillar located in the bar, I was able to avoid the bullets without much hassle.
