23) His manic laughter

"Ladies~" Golzine said as he walked in the office, followed by two of his bodyguards.

"Mister Golzine" Your mother fake smiled as he walked in, taking a seat in front of you both.

"Oh Layla, how many times have i asked you. Call me Golzine, no need for formalities" Golzine said as he hovered his hand on top of Layla's. Disgusting.

"Excuse me Layla, i hadn't had the proper time to introduce myself to little miss here" Golzine said as he pointed his finger towards you. "I see your daughter has taken over the same genetic features from you" Said Golzine clasping his hands together as he stared intensely at you. Take your eyes off me you pig.

You felt Layla nudge you with her arm in to your rib cage out of no where, you internally groaned in pain as you fake smiled towards Dino.

"Thank you, again. I can never be more grateful for being reunited with my daughter" Layla said breaking the tension between Golzine and you.

"See it as payment for your co-operation involving Banana Fish. We wouldn't have been able to alter and perfect it if it wasn't for you. But i'm afraid we have to escort y/n some place else regarding the fact she was an accomplice of Ash" Golzine explained. Shit, what does he mean by escorting me? You raised your eyebrows as you looked at the guards beside him and Golzine.

"Wh-what do you mean she was an accomplice of Ash?" Your mother asked confusedly. You already told her about your relation with Ash and the rest, but she still didn't know the details since you didn't have that much time to tell her everything that happened the past weeks in detail.

"Y/n assisted Ash in to assassinating me" Golzine stated calmly. Oh to feel the tension without your eyes.

"In my defence, you did send Arthur and his men to hunt me and Ash. Not to mention, Griff died because of you aswel" You stated calmly, just like Golzine did as he expected Layla to lash out on you.

Heh you little pig. 1-0 for me.

"Griff- Griffin Callenreese?" Your mother asked to confirm what you said. She looked at you with shocked expression, you could see she didn't want to believe what you just said.

"Yeah, Griffin Callenreese. Ash is Griffin's younger brother by the way. He didn't die 4 years ago, he got shot a few weeks ago. Also, Abraham shot him" You said smirking towards Golzine as you knew you won the argument. Your mother hung her head low as her long silky hair covered her face. You could see out of your peripheral vision, blood dripping down her palm as she dug her nails in to her palms.

"I see" Is all Layla said, coldly.

Golzine cleared his throat to grab your mother's attention again. "As i was trying to say, Y/n will be escorted to a room so i can rest assured that nothing will be meddled with. We've finally succeeded in the making of Banana Fish and i want everything to go flawlessly, so we can win Senator Kippard over. Of course, we'll leave food and all the basic necessities in the room, but it'll be locked" Explained Golzine. You stared back at him, shooting daggers trough your eyes.

The hate you held for Golzine was evident enough for him to see, and he hated the fact you were greatly friended with Ash, so it definitely was mutual. But Golzine couldn't do anything about you for the time being since he needed Layla's knowledge. If he were to hurt you, Layla would destroy Banana Fish and he knew that since day one. You were indirectly an important asset of the success of Banana Fish. The moment Arthur saw you for the first time with Ash, he dug your information up and presented in to Golzine. Golzine, of course, noticed the same last name Layla and you share and figured out who you were. Layla some how accidentally found out that you were extremely close to where she was and requested for your safety to Golzine. Thus, if he disposed you, Layla would dispose Banana Fish, and he knew that really well.
