I frown as I walk downstairs and see eggs on a pan. I had to get used to eggs at boarding school but they are definitely not my first choice for breakfast. I put some on my plate with fruit too. I sit on the couch next to Leo.
Kendall says, "Did you see that it's Kylie's birthday?"
I nod, "Yeah, I saw all of the posts."
Kendall then adds, "Did you hear that she is having a party at the beach houses?"
I turn to her, "No, I didn't." I squint my eyes, waiting for her to explain.
Jack comes downstairs in the middle of our conversation but neither of us addresses him.
"We're both invited. Maybe since it's a birthday party your mom might be nicer about letting you go." Kendall pleads.
"I don't know. I don't think she will say yes." I look down so she can't see my frown.
"I know, but Kylie really wants you there. I won't go if you don't."
I quickly respond, "No! You should go! Be there for both of us."
Kendall shakes her head, "At least ask your mom."
I nod, "I will." I slowly take out my phone. I'm still trying to decide if this is a good idea. I craft my words carefully as I explain the situation.
Jack hops on the couch and says, "Another party, huh?"
Kendall sarcastically says, "You remember Kylie, right? I'm pretty sure I saw you two-,"
"Yeah, I remember her," Jack interrupts loudly. "Is it her birthday or something?" I look over at him with curious eyes. I study his whole demeanor. His hair is messy, but when is it not? He has a rubber bracelet on that I don't think I've seen before.
Kendall chuckles before answering, "Yeah and she's having a party."
Jack nods then turns to watch the tv. She's officially lost his attention.
My mom texts me back at around 11 saying, 'You can't go to a party even if it's a birthday. You can explain to Kylie why you can't go.'
I sigh and text back, 'I understand. Kendall will go and be there for the two of us.' Then I threw my phone on the bed in anger.
After I cooled off, I had made a decision. I walked downstairs to Kendall's room. "My mom said I could go if I am careful."
Kendall jumps up, "Seriously? Yes! I'm so excited!" She shouts as she hugs me.
Jack peaks into the doorway because of the shouting, I assume . Kendall answers his confused expression with, "She can go to the party!"
Jack eyes me as he nods. His walks out slowly. My guilt is really getting to me, but if my mom doesn't care enough about me to even be here, then it's not my fault. She won't even know.
After lunch, we all pack and get ready to leave. I pack swimsuits, jean shorts, and tops to wear. I also bring some skirts just in case. Then I come downstairs with a bikini on and a skirt and top over it.
We put all of our stuff in Kendall's Range Rover because Leo isn't coming. His parents are taking him on vacation to the Bahamas for two weeks. I would love to take my Jeep but I'm pretty sure my parents know how many miles are on it and I already have to explain how the miles from Chick-fil-a got there.
We all left soon after and drove to the beach houses. It was a nice drive and the Range Rover is always comfortable for me. I stretched out in the back seat.
When we got there, there were already a ton of people on the beach. The place is still familiar on my mind from when we were last here. The houses are all designed in proper beach house style.
