My outfit for the party is perfect. It's a sparkly dress with the jewelry and shoes to match. The dress is just tight enough to where I'm not dying but I look good.Prescott has a car coming for us. When I meet Kendall in the street, I have the pleasure of seeing Jack too. He looks like he is ready to go too.
"You were invited to a party?" I say with a smirk. When he doesn't respond yet, I continue, "It must have been so hard to find another party in the Hamptons."
"Right. I won't go, but how long will you hold this over me?" he says.
"You know what, you should go. I'm holding nothing over you."
"If you insist," he says quietly.
We all hop into the car and drive off. It's not a far drive, but if I thought my grandparents house was exquisite, then this house is off the charts. I can't even think of the adjectives that would do this house justice. It is huge and grand and probably worth at least a hundred mil.
We walk out with our wide eyes and dropped jaws. The music is blaring in our ears. There are people everywhere. This is crazy. I used to think there were a lot of people at Mark's parties but this is insane.
Kendall and I walk around. This house is gorgeous. We talk to a few people but some of them are so much older than we are. Most people here are definitely in college.
Kendall and I get some drinks and hang out by the music. I even befriend the guy with the aux so that I can play some of my favorite songs. I play Pursuit of Happiness that seems to get everyone hyped.
Kendall and I dance with the crowd as the song plays. When my legs can't carry me anymore through the dancing, the guy with the aux walks closer and says, "You got good music. What's your name?"
I smile at the compliment then say, "Mary Cate. What's yours?"
"Bryce. You in town long?"
"I guess we'll see," I say with a smirk. I walk away with Kendall. We go upstairs to see what's going on upstairs. People are playing cup pong, so we join in.
Drink after drink after drink. My head feels a little woozy, but I feel all giggly. As I finish the last cup, I think I see Jack walking up the stairs. There's a lot of people in the area, but I think it's him.
As he walks over, I can see that it is definitely him. He mumbles to Kendall, "What the hell are you two doing?"
Kendall laughs and says, "Relax Jack. We're just having fun."
Jack talks lower but sterner, "You guys can do this at Mark's, but don't do this here. It's dangerous."
Kendall stares at him for a few seconds then starts giggling. She grabs my arm and runs away. We go all the way down to the first story and hang out with the people dancing.
Bryce walks back over to us and says hey. I hands me a drink and says, "Here, I got you. Got anymore good songs?"
I smile and say, "Of course. Give me your phone." He raises his eyebrows as I take a sip. Then he hands me his phone, and I queue a few songs.
We dance around for a while. This is so fun. I finish my cup and go for another one, but then I choose not to. I feel like I don't need it.
I walk back over and see Bryce talking to Kendall. "Hey, does anyone know what time it is?" I ask.
Bryce says, "It's like 11:40, don't worry." Bryce pulls out his phone, and I'm guessing skips the song because another one comes on. Wait. I would recognize this song anywhere. It's my favorite song ever. Pepas. I cannot believe this.
