Mark and I walk downstairs to get more drinks. I finally see Kendall with Leo. Kendall quickly walks over and says, "Hey, can I talk to MC?"

Mark nods and says, "I'll get drinks." I nod and walk towards the corner with Kendall.

"Did you hear about Jack?" she asks.

I shake my head, "No, what do you mean?"

"He was making out with Kylie then apparently he said that they were dating. You didn't know about that?"

My eyes widen, "No, did you?"

She shakes her head, "No. Did something happen?"

I hesitate before saying, "Yeah, actually. We had a little chat like thirty minutes ago. He told me that Mark liked me and then he asked me not to do to Mark what I did to him."

Kendall interrupts, "What does that mean?"

I explain, "He said that he never actually wanted to break up, which doesn't even make sense to me. We had a whole conversation, he could've just said something."

Kendall sighs, "He not the smartest at times. Crap, I feel so bad for Kylie."

I nod, "Me too. Hey wait, you didn't react when I said that Jack said Mark liked me."

Kendall shrugs, "Yeah, it was obvious."

My eyes widen again, "How was it obvious? I never realized."

"He has literally come by our house to make sure you were okay."

"Yeah, I thought he was just a really good friend."

"Well did you talk to him about it?"

"Actually yes! I kissed him!"

Kendall jumps up, "Way to bury the lead! Oh my gosh! So he likes you... and you like him?"

I nod, "Yes, he's so sweet."

Kendall smiles, "That's great. I'm so happy for you."

I smile but notice her thinking about something else too. "What's wrong?" I ask.

"It's nothing for you to worry about," then she mutters something but the only thing I understood was "Jack." Shoot. If he's already doing dumb stuff without even knowing about Mark, then what is he going to do when he finds out.

"Maybe we should not tell him for a while," I say.

Kendall nods, "Yeah, that's probably best. I'm gonna go find him and smack some sense into him but I'm still really happy for you."

I smile and watch her walk away. Then I look around, trying to find Mark. He's with a group of boys, but he still has two cups in his hand. I smile and walk over. I grab that cup and thank him before a take a big gulp.

I make a weird face as I say, "That's root beer."

Mark smiles and says, "Yup. You probably shouldn't drink anymore tonight." The boys around us laugh with each other. I don't know whether I should be embarrassed or not.

"If you guys had girlfriends I'm sure you'd understand," Mark says, silencing the guys.

One of them says, "Shoot, you got MC?" The other ones pat him on the back. Yeah, I'm a little embarrassed right now. I did notice that he said girlfriend, which I don't have a problem with at all.

The guys walk off, leaving Mark and I. I smile, "I should be grateful for you looking out for me, but I was really looking forward to something stronger," I say holding up the cup.
