POV: BAYLIN GRIGGS

Detective Williams told me everything will be taken care of— the notes, the box, my keys, Maya.

She said that she and Officer Hill will need to do a 'sweep of the house', whatever that means. I presume they'll just look through Maya's room and other places around the house that could help them pinpoint where she might have gone.

"I feel weird about having strangers look through my house." I tell Liam and Harry as we make way to the stairs.

"I wouldn't be," Harry states. "Alice is good at her job, she's not going to snoop is she doesn't need to."

I'm still very much confused as to why Harry has with negative emotions towards Alice, which makes me trust her and her team less. But seeing how Harry seems to be okay with it— I'll go along with his judgment.

After we were all done talking about what needed to get done, most of the boys had left. Niall on his own and Louis drove Zayn home— I don't even want to imagine how awkward that car ride must have been.

The two remaining boys and I went upstairs so that I could pack a bag since I wouldn't be saying at my house for at least a couple days.

"You could just stay with me yknow." Liam mutters as we walk through my bedroom door, Harry still a couple steps behind us.

I take the chance to check the clock on my nightstand beside my bed.
4:02 pm

I give Liam a glance before walking over to my closet to grab an empty dark green colored backpack off the top shelf, "I know."

"Then why aren't you?" He asks with touch of attitude just as Harry makes his way into my room.

I spot the bag I wanted and lifted myself on my toes to try to reach for it, yet failing to do so. I attempt at it again, struggling. I then feel Harry come next to me, putting his hand on my hip and moving me aside.

"Because," Harry answers Liam, nonchalantly grabbing the bag off the tall shelf and holding it out for me. "she's staying with me."

I take the bag from him and walk over to my dresser across the room.

"And what if she doesn't want to stay with you?" He shoots back.

"I do." I say simply as I gather some clothes and shove them into the bag.

I could almost feel Liams irritated eyes burning at the back of my skull, I also hear Harry chuckle under his breath— they're literal children.

Liam groans, "Why can't you just-".

"I'm staying with Harry, period end of story." I say calmly, cutting him off.

If I'm being honest, I'd really would love to stay with Liam— but, no offense to the boy, I feel more safe with Harry. Especially after seeing what he did to Niall, Liam would get his ass kicked in a situation like that.

"Yeah, period end of story." Harry taunts, changing his voice to mock my accent.

I turn around and shoot him a glare so he would stop acting like such and child and not rub it in Liam's face.

Liam throws himself down on my bed, leaning on his palms with the slightest pout across his face. While Harry was leaning against the open door frame with a smug smirk across his face and his arms crossed, both watching me like a hawk.

The three is us were quiet for the most part as I packed— filling the room with an abundance of unpleasantness.

"Baylin, did you get word from your mum? Tell her not to come home?" Harry asks, ridding the silence of the room.
