Chapter 17

"I am scared!"

"Don't worry, I will protect you. Come here."

She walks over towards me and I pick her up. I sense the building trying to find the human and take the path without demons. I walk with her dodging all demons and towards the door with the human. It took a few tries because the rooms would change but we got there. As we open the doors a couple of things were thrown at us and I deflected them with my hands.

"We are here to help, please stop throwing things at us. I have your sister.

"Tanjiro?!"

"No, but I a friend of his. I am (y/n)."

"Thank you for bringing my sister back to me!"

"No problem. First, stop hitting the drum, and second, we are going to wait here for Tanjiro to finish killing the demon."

"Ok."

As we wait I am sensing Tanjiro and the demon as they fight.[ Maybe he has grown stronger. ]I sense as he kills the demon and gets the blood. I wait for him to get to the room and leave. When he opens the door the boy starts to throw things again.

"W-Wait! It is me Tanjiro!"

"Oh, Tanjiro sorry."

"(y/n)!"

"Hey, I was waiting for you."

"Thanks for bringing her here."

We start to leave the house. When we get to the outside I see a person with a boar head hitting Zenitsu. I kick him in the side making him fly into a wall. As Tanjiro deals with the boy I clean up Zenitsu and thank him for taking care of Tanjiro's box. We watch as the boar head tries to fight Tanjiro. [He is very flexible but very cocky.] We see as Tanjiro headbutts the boy resulting in a cracking sound. He gets up from the ground with blood running down his head and the boar head off. He is pretty for a boy. After a little bit, his mouth foams and he collapses.

"How hard is your head?!"

"Don't worry, he just has an abnormally strong skull."

We lay the boy down and cover him with our haoris. Mine is acting as a pillow while Tanjiro and Zenitsu's were covering him and on the ground beneath him. We start to bury the bodies while we wait for him to wake up. When he does he asks what we are doing, but when we explain he doesn't understand.

"Well, I guess you are too tired to help."

"Yea, since you are hurt you can go back to sleep as we work on this," I add on.

"No, I will do it!"

Once we finish the graves with the help of Inoske we pray and start to head down the mountain as the crow screeched. As we walk down Inoske keeps bashing his head against trees and keeps calling us the wrong names. The crow gives the boy a bag of wisteria to keep him safe when we part ways. After we say our goodbyes we keep heading down the mountain.

"Fight me Gonpachiro!"

"No, it is against the rules".

"Will, you shut up. I am trying to sleep!!!"

Since he was on my back his screaming hurt my head. I winced and Tanjiro gave me a sympathetic look. When we finally reach the place we are supposed to go an old lady opens the door and lets us in.

"Sorry for intruding mam, I am going to leave after I set him down inside."

"That is ok."

We follow the lady into the house and I set Zenitsu down inside the room. After they get changed I follow them to say thanks to the lady and leave. When we get there she has 4 trays of food and was waiting for us.

"Please eat."

"You didn't need to make food for me, I was going to leave."

"I am sure that you helped these boys so please stay the night. It is already dark outside."

"Ok, thank you then. I am very grateful."

She leaves and we start to eat. Before Tanjiro eats his food Inoskek grabs a bunch of his food and eats it all in one gulp. He gives a cheeky grin. Tanjiro just hands him more of his food and smiles. I place most of my food on Tanjiro's plate before I lift my mask slightly to eat.

"(y/n) did you give me your food?""

"Yes, I don't normally eat this much and you gave most of your food to him."

I had only moved the mask so that they could see the bottom half of my face. I eat it very quickly and fix the mask  on. I go and sit by Tanjiro's box and do maintenance on my weapons. The doctor comes and checks what is wrong with them. He scolds them for being so reckless and leaves. I keep sharpening my small weapons as they get ready to sleep.

"(y/n) you should sleep."

"I will in a little bit. I just want this to be a little bit sharper."

The box next to me starts to shake scaring Zenitsu. The door opens and Nezuko steps out. When she sees me she crawls over to me.

"(y/n) be careful!"

I am fine. I take off the mask and hug Nezuko. She returns the favor while humming happily.

"Whatttt!"
