Ehehe, forgive me for not posting last Friday. School took all my effort and creativity and threw it into the abyss. :)

I look at the boy as he starts mumbling about something.

"Hey, what are you doing here?"I ask rather weakly.

"I could ask you the same. Hehe."

"I asked first, plus there isn't much I can do right now."

"Um, well. you see... the thing isssssssss."

"Just spit it out already. At this point, I will die before you finished your sentence."

"Ooh! Are you alright?!"

I stare at him with a straight face and the most monotone voice I could muster," Sure. I'm just bleeding profusely and can barely move any of my limbs. Either than that, I am just peachy."

"Wait what!!" He screams as he runs over to me, tripping on a small stone and crashing into me."Ow ow ow!"

I slight groan as I push him off of me and fix the splint on my leg."Get off, you're heavy."

He quickly scrambles off of me and brushes his pants after standing up. " Oh crap. Hurry hurry, we need to leave now!"He grabs onto my arm, and before I could say anything he tries to pull me up.

*pop *

I slowly look up at his frightened face that looks ready to start crying."Ow."

"Oh my kami-sama! I am soooo sorry! Please forgive me!"

"Just push it back in." I quickly snap at him, getting more irritated by the second.

"Ah, but I don't know how to do that."

I give him a deadpan stare as he twiddles with the fingers of my dislocated arm. He gets scared and drops down to his knees, taking my arm with him. That leads to a series of small cracking noises and the boy yelps. I grab my arm and fully exhale before shoving it upwards and popping it back into place.

"Alright, now explain who you are and why you are here?"

"Um, well my name is Hibiki Takihiko!" He states proudly while smiling widely." I have two younger siblings, one girl, and the other male. My father is a story writer, and my mother is a seamstress. The reason I was out here is that I am looking for someone, and I ended up being chased by something."

"Something?"

"Yea, it didn't look human, but it spoke our language and could respond." He starts shaking and turns pale reminiscing about the being. As a small exercise for my arm, I straighten it out and place it on his shoulder.

"Can you give better details?"

"Um, maybe. It was kinda dark where I was. Um, it had a purplish color skin, with red spirals either on their clothing or their body. They had really, I mean REALLY sharp fangs! Oh, yea they also had these really pretty sea-green eyes!"

"Alright, we will try and avoid the 'thing' at all costs. Where is the nearest village?"

"That would be the one I live in. It's called (v/n)(village name) {Sorry I have no imagination when it comes to naming things.} It is about a mile away from the forest we are in."

[That's not close at all, but whatever.]

"Hey, if you don't mind me asking, why do you have your hair covering half of your face?"

"I am unsightly. What I use to cover it is gone." He goes over to move my hair, and I grab his wrist tightly."Don't."

"Sorry, sorry. I have an idea."He looks inside his bag and starts to rummage through the items stored within the bag. After removing a few books and papers, he removes his hand to reveal a broken mask.

"I just remembered that my mask broke when I set out to search. It won't do me any good, so you can use it. It should cover most of your face."

I look at him slightly surprised and I gingerly take the mask and put it on my face."Thank you."

"It's no problem, it's not like it is going to do me any good.

"Still as an act of kindness is given I will give one in return. I promise that you will reach (v/n) unscathed. Now, what direction is (v/n) in, we need to make a plan to avoid the being?"

"About north, northeast."

I take my walking stick and use it to draw in the dirt below us. I draw the obstacles that the terrain has for us to get past. We mark the space that Hibiki said he met the being. Once everything was planned out the night was still young. I decided it was best to start the travel in the morning as to not have any extra complications. Once Hibiki's breathing was settled, indicating that he was sleeping I lifted myself off of the ground and walk towards the entrance of the cave. I take the handle with a small sharpened piece of the blade still connected to it and keep it in hand.

[Time to go hunting.]

By the time that the sun rose, I was back in the cave and had gotten a couple of hours to sleep. I awakened when the sunlight entered the mouth of the cave and I waited for Hibiki to awaken. I reach across his body and grab one of the books he left laying on the ground. I flip through the pages and find the contents table.

[A history book. Why would you be searching for someone from the past now?]

I grab the other book and flip through its contents. The same type of history book about the same thing. I flip through the pages and start to read.

{(v/n) village was founded with one family, a very religious family. A noble and rich family that bring friends and allowed travelers to stay. After many years of being a myth to neighboring townspeople began to search it out. Rumors of a place that has a plentiful harvest, lovely people, and happy lives bring people from all over. As more and more people came, their greed corrupted them leading to the destruction of the commonwealth.

Crops started dying, droughts came, terrible weather. The once lively town was now a desolate and grim place. The family that founded the village never gave up hope and continued to pray to their gods, except it was only them. On an especially dreary day, the founding family gathered everyone into the town square, and they prayed to their gods in hopes of becoming fortunate one more.

The family once known for their kindness burned the people of the town as a sacrifice. The sacrifice indeed worked. The fields were plentiful, their children happy and the weather peaceful. They continued this pattern of taking travelers, letting them stay, and making a sacrifice when things started to turn. The Tak-}

I stopped reading when I see (e/c) eyes staring at me over the top of the book.

"Goodmorning, I hope you slept well enough."

"Hehe, I sure did. Why do you look even worse than you did last night?"

"I died and revived while you were sleeping."

His eyes widen like saucers and he scrambles up and away from me." Whatttt! Really?!"

"No." His face visibly dropped. "But I will die soon, just as everyone else will."
