Time Heals All Wounds
I was getting better every day, finally steady on my feet for the first time in a while. When I breathed deeply, I didn't feel the urge to cough my lungs up anymore, just a deep ache. I saw that as a plus. I stayed in the cell block anyway, just for some final check ups. Lizzie left yesterday and I was planning on leaving tomorrow, if Hershel would let me. In the mean time, I spent a lot of time doing absolutely nothing.
During the day I checked on recovering patients, making sure they were comfortable and getting better. That only took about an hour before I would go back to my cell and have a nap, getting up a while later and having something to eat. The illness had stopped me eating and that definitely didn't help my recovery, but now I was feeling better. Sometimes I read, sometimes I went to see Maggie and Glenn, sometimes Daryl came in to see me.
"Hey, kid. Brought you some stuff." He dropped a bag at my feet, my sword sticking out.
"Thanks, Daryl. But I'm getting out tomorrow."
"Yeah? Did Hershel tell you that? Or did you decide that yourself?" He inquired.
"I'm better now, I swear. Just give me the night and I'll be back to full health." I grinned.
He rolled his eyes and sat on the bed opposite me. "Yeah, sure. How about I give you another day or two and we'll see how you feel then?"
I huffed and fell back on my bed. "Fine. But I know Carl's waiting for me. And Beth can't handle all those kids alone, she's gonna need some help."
"No, she ain't. Those kids are back in their own cell blocks now. Quarantines over." He casually replied.
I scoffed in disbelief. "So they get to leave, but I don't?"
"Well, they weren't 'passed-out-bleeding-from-the-mouth' sick, so yeah." He told me.
I had already told him a hundred times, that happened when I was at my worst. Now, I'm healthier than I have been in the past week. I guess he was just looking out for me.

Honestly, I hate the Governor centric episodes but that's just because I love the prison vibe
Maybe if they did one episode instead of two or spread them out a bit more I would like them
But it does mean Tara was introduced and she's one of my faves
