Reunited For Fear Of Death
"-then I found Rick and Michonne, and Carl, then...we found Daryl." I told Maggie and Glenn, ripping the zip off my jacket and sawing at the wooden wall, trying to make a sort of weapon.
"You found him?" Maggie asked with concern. She had seen the distant look in my eye and knew something was wrong.
"He was with these...men. This other group. They were hunting down Rick and they found us and they-they hurt us." I tearfully told her, remembering that night. The events still preyed on my mind, casting a shadow over the rest of my thoughts. Maggie placed her hand on mine and I saw Glenn staring at the floor, a look of anger and worry in his eyes.
"I'm so sorry, Belle." Maggie comforted me.
"I'm sorry, too. I was right there, when the Governor-"
"It's okay, it's not your fault. You don't need to apologise." Maggie insisted, remembering the day her father died. Being on the road gave her a lot of time to think, and helped her come to terms with it. "And now we know Beth is out there, too."
We had been locked in the train car for several hours, giving us time to make a plan. We used everything we could find, from sharpened belt buckles to thin sticks, fashioning them into weapons. It also gave us a lot of time to catch up.
"Alright, got four of them pricks coming our way." Daryl informed us from his position at the door, moving away from the crack. I picked up the sharpened piece of wood, gripping it so hard I felt splinters.
"Y'all know what to do. Go for their eyes first, then their throats." Rick made his way to the door, holding his weapon and waiting. We all got in a fighting stance as we heard the voices getting closer, ready to attack.
"Put your backs to the walls on either side of the car now." A muffled voice called to us. We didn't listen, only crouching lower in preparation. We heard footsteps, only they weren't outside the door like we expected, they were on the roof. A hatch opened and a small canister dropped inside, causing us to stare at it in confusion.
"Move!" Abraham yelled, jumping out the way as it exploded, releasing smoke into the car. I felt Glenn's arms shoving me to the back, until they disappeared completely. I coughed and squinted my eyes, trying to see anything other than faint silhouettes. The smoke dissipated through the small cracks, leaving the car mostly clear again.
"Dad!" I heard Carl yell from the other side. I scanned the area, and Rick was nowhere in sight. Neither was Glenn, Daryl or Bob.
"Shit!" I hissed under my breath, hitting a closed fist against the wall in frustration. The smoke was a distraction so the people of Terminus could take our people.
Where, I didn't know.

I went back to sharpening my weapon, seeing no point in panicking when we could be doing things to help.
"So, you really think you can cure this thing?" I was crouched down beside Rosita, the woman from Abraham's group. Eugene, the man with the mullet, had explained he was a scientist, and there was a cure for the disease that spread across the country.
"Eugene can. It's just my job to get him there." She replied, filing a belt buckle into a point. She had a bad attitude, always making sarcastic comments and rolling her eyes. She was growing on me already.
"And where are you headed?" I inquired. If things could go back to normal, I would want to be there. I would want my family to be there.
"We've been on the road to D.C. for a while now. He's a smart guy, if anyone can do it's him." We watched as Eugene sat in the corner, fiddling with some wires and strings. He was a strange man.
