Chapter 46: New baby

Y/N's POV

We were all asleep in the Visitor Center, I woke up to see Rebecca holding the baby. Clem was sleeping next to me. She started to wake up as well.

Clementine: Hi Y/N.

Y/N: Hey Clem.

We then look at Rebecca and the baby.

Rebecca: Hey, Clementine and Y/N.

Y/N: Hey.

Clementine: How's he doing?

She refers the the baby.

Rebecca: He's perfect.

Me and Clem get up and walks to Rebecca and the baby.

Y/N: He looks like Alvin.

Rebecca: You think so?

Clementine: Definitely.

Rebecca: Thank you.

Rebecca then started coughing.

Rebecca: I'm fine. Just need to get warm.

Mike then wakes up.

Mike: Y/N... Why don't you give her that coat we found?

I then give her the coat.

Mike goes back to sleep.

Rebecca: You two wanna hold him?

Clementine: Could we?

Rebecca: Of course. You're family.

She then gives Clem the baby. It warms my heart at the sight. The baby started crying.

Clementine: Shhh, shhhh. There you go.

The baby stops crying.

Y/N: Aww.

Clementine: You want to hold him?

Y/N: I would love to.

She then gives me the baby. I look down at him and gave him a smile. Clem smiled at the sight of me holding the baby. The baby didn't cry at all. Lee and Kenny walks up to us.

Lee: Look at you two. Like a big brother and sister.

Kenny: Here, let me take him. You both should rest. Especially you.

Rebecca: When's the last time you slept, Kenny?

Kenny: About two years ago. I'm fine.

He then looks at the baby.

Kenny: Plus somebody's gotta watch you while Mama gets her beauty sleep. You never forget that smell.

Lee: Okay then. I'll head back to sleep then.

We see Jane sneaking out. Me and Clem walk up to her. She then sees us.

Jane: Aw, shit.

Clementine: What are you doing?

Jane: I'm sorry. I've gotta go.

Y/N: Why?

Jane: I just do. Just remember that you two can make it on your own if it comes to that. If stuff starts heading south. Don't let them drag both of you down too.

She then gives me the nail file. She then leaves. Luke walks to us.

Luke: Hey. Thought you two would be asleep by now. You two okay?

Y/N: We're fine.

Luke: Okay. Good. Hell of a night, though... We should stay here since we don't have food for Rebecca and the baby. I was thinking Jane and I could go explore and find some place to scavenge.

Me and Clem then look down.

Luke: What?

Clementine: Jane left... for good.

Luke: What? When?

Clementine: Just now.

Luke: Are you serious? She didn't say anything about leaving to me. What the fuck?!

He then hits the wall.

Luke: Dammit!

Kenny then walks over with the baby.

Kenny: Hey, keep it down.

Luke: Sorry, I... sorry. Just... Jane's gone.

Kenny: Really?! Luke? Of all the childish bullshit.

Luke: Childish? God dammit, Kenny, you know what? Just... lay off.

Rebecca: Kenny, where's my baby?

Lee and Mike comes in.

Mike: Is everything all right?

Luke: Everything's fine.

Lee: What's the plan.

Kenny: We're gonna need a good place to raise him, which ain't here, we gotta push on. We head north. Get to Wellington. That's our best shot.

Luke: Rebecca can't travel! She needs rest!

Clementine: We should leave in the morning.

Lee: I say leaving is the best. I know Rebecca ain't well. But this place isn't the safest.

Mike: We should all get some sleep.

We all agree with him. I sit down. Clem sits with me.

Clementine: How come the baby didn't cry when you held him?

Y/N: Because I am nice.

Clementine: Are you saying I'm not?

Y/N: No. You are beautiful.

I immediately realized what I said as Clem started blushing very hard.

Y/N: I-I mean--

Clementine: You think I'm beautiful?

Y/N: Ye-Yeah.

Clem was still blushing as she started to give me a smile.

Clementine: Aww. Thank you Y/N. That was the sweetest thing anyone has ever said to me.

Then what happened next was unexpected. Clem scooted closer to me and kissed me on the cheek. Now it was my turn to blush. Clem then laid down.

Clementine: Goodnight Y/N.

Y/N: Oh. Um. Goodnight Clem.

She then fell asleep. I lay down and fall asleep as well.

Y/N's thoughts: Clem kissed my cheek! Holy shit!
