Chapter 99: Am I a murderer?

Y/N's POV

Me and Clem was asleep in our room. We heard the door open, we woke up to see AJ holding two cups of coffee.

AJ: Made you two some coffee. It was in the kitchen. Tenn said I could have some. I didn't steal it.

We take the cups and take sips of the coffee.

Y/N: I'm surprised you remember how to make it.

Clementine: We haven't had coffee in a long time.

AJ: You put it in hot water.

Clementine: Yeah. That's right.

Y/N: Thank you AJ.

Me and Clem take another sip of our coffee.

AJ: I heard what Louis called me last night. Am I a murderer?

Me and Clem look at each other and back to AJ.

AJ: Aren't we supposed to kill bad stuff? Monsters? I thought Marlon was bad. He killed Brody and kept saying lies.

Y/N: I'm sorry AJ, but Louis is right. Marlon was bad. But he wasn't a threat to us anymore when you shot him.

AJ walks to his bed.

AJ: What do we do?

Me and Clem don't know what to say.

AJ: Guys? If I'm a murderer, am I gonna die, too?

Clementine: What? No.

AJ: I think murderers are like monsters, and I know what happens to monsters. Nothing good.

Clementine: You're not a monster AJ.

AJ: They think I am.

Y/N: They won't do anything to you. Me and Clem won't ever let anything happen to you.

AJ: Thank you guys.

Y/N: Yeah.

Clementine: Don't worry, we will fix this. We will help you atone.

AJ: Atone?

Y/N: Means make up for what you did.

AJ looks at us confused.

Y/N: Whats up?

AJ: You guys killed lots of people.

Y/N: I know.....

Clementine: That was because we had to. We don't kill them if they aren't a threat.

We stayed silent, then AJ broke it.

AJ: I love you guys.

Clementine: We love you back.

Y/N: Always.

The three of us hug each other. We pull apart when we heard the door opening. It was Tenn.

Tenn: Hey, Violet wants you guys at the funeral.

Clementine: Really?

Tenn: We used to have more. I also brought AJ something.

He offers a firefighter toy.

AJ: For me?

Tenn: You were brave last night. Like a firefighter.

AJ: No. Firefighters are good. I'm a murderer.

Tenn: You need a trail first. Well. back when we used to have rules.

Y/N: Now we need to decide things for ourselves.

Tenn: Who decided you're a murderer?

AJ: Clem and Y/N. But they re right.

Tenn: I think you are okay. Violet will start the funeral soon. See you guys out there.

Tenn leaves. Me and Clem finish our coffee before the three of us get the others and leave for the funeral.
