Chapter 5: Meeting Omid and Christa

Y/N's POV

The trained stopped and all of us got out to see and gas tank in front of us hanging off a bridge.

Kenny: Fuck! Fuck! Fuck! FUCK! FUUUUUUUUUCK!!!

Ben: Maybe we could walk?

Kenny: That's fucking stupid, Ben.

Ben: I'm just saying.

Chuck: Hmm. I dunno; I ain't got much experience with y'all's fortitude but we could probably deal with that. We got a goddamn train.

Kenny: That thing's not full of milk, Charlies. That's gas or diesel; something that's going to explode.

Chuck: YOU gotta get a hold of yourself. This is a crew here.

Kenny: This ain't shit.

Chuck: This-

???: Yo, you keep screaming like that and you're gonna get your face chewed off.

We look up to see the man who was talking. There was also a woman.

Woman: Are you guys going to be trouble? Because we could've just kept walking.

Lee: No, we're friendly. Put your hand down, Ken.

Woman: That's what everybody says.

Lee: we know.

Man: You guys got a problem with your train?

Kenny: Yeah, you're standing right in front of it.

Man: Dude, it's a wreak. It's not so bad from up here. Send your buddy to have a look.

Lee: If I come up there you better not be murderers or thieves.

Woman: I guess you'll have to find out.

Carley: Don't worry, Lee. I'll come up with you to make sure they aren't trouble.

Lee: Thank you, Carley.

Lee and Carley then climbs the ladder. Me and Clem were watching the three talk. Duck is staying with Kenny.

Clementine: Want to go up there?

Y/N: Sure.

We then climb the ladder.

Man: Oh shit. Goddamn, you guys have kids!

Lee and Carley then looked at us.

Lee: What are you two doing up here?

Man: Do you know how long it's been since I've seen a kid? Shit! What's your names?

Y/N: Y/N.

Clementine: Clementine.

Lee: Oh, so he gets to swear?

Man: Well, this is great. See, things are looking up.

Woman: You're not their dad. They down there?

Lee: It's that oblivious?

Woman: To me.

Lee: And no, he's not down there.

Woman: Hmm. What's your story?

Lee: I came across Clementine and Y/N alone the first day all of this happened. I was actually incarcerated.

Man: Sick, do you have any prison tats?

Lee: I didn't make it that far.

Woman: And everybody down there, they're cool?

Y/N: Kenny lost his family I think a hour ago.

Carley: That right next to him is his son, his only family left.

Woman: Oh, that's sad.

Man: We're sorry for anything that happened to you guys. The train is awesome, though.

Woman: The tank is your real problem. We'll help you with it, but if we see anything we don't like, we're moving on down the road. Alone.

Lee: We'd appreciate the help.

Man: You can't just blast through it, I guess.

Woman: If you could get it down, the rest would be easy.

Lee: We'll start there.

Woman: We'll come down and settle in, and see if we can help.

We then went back down the ladder. We walked back towards the group.

Lee: Guys, this is Omid and Christa.

Omid: Not big on welcomes.

Lee: Like I said we could use some good people. The plan is to cut that tanker down and be on our way.

Kenny: Seems like plan enough to me.

Kenny had no emotion in his face. Which worried me.

Omid: You want to start on that tanker?

Christa: I'll get to know the kids for a minute, if you don't mind.

Kenny: And why don't I show you how this thing works, in case something happens.

Lee: Really, Ken?

Kenny: It's probably for the best. Someone might want to have a look inside of that station back there, too.

Duck: Can I help you Dad?

Kenny: Yes. You can.

Omid: Sounds great. Let's do this thing.

Me and Clem sat with Christa.

Christa: So, how did you two meet?

Clem then looked at me worried. She knew what I was gonna say.

Y/N: I was at my house with my parents. My mom was very sick. I went upstairs to check on her, and she was one of them.

Christa: Oh no.

Y/N: My father shot her, and then more came in, they bit my dad.

I was starting to tear up.

Y/N: He told me to run, and I did. He is now one of them.

Clem wrapped her arms around me, comforting me. I then smiled when looking at Clem.

Y/N: Then I found Clem's house. And met her. She was trying to get a hammer to attack me with.

Clementine: I'm glad I didn't.

Christa: I'm sorry for everything Y/N. No kid should go through that. What about you Clem?

Clementine: My parents are in Savannah. We are on our way there.

Christa: That's good.

We then saw Lee and Carley walk towards the station. Clem looked at me.

Clementine: Let's go with them.

Y/N: Okay.

We then ran over to them.

Clementine: Can we follow you over there?

Lee: Don't like the new girl?

Y/N: I do. But... We're a team. Like you said.

Carley: I say they can come with us.

Lee: Yeah, all right. Come on.

Lee then looked at the group.

Lee: Carley, Clementine, Y/N, and I are checking out this train station, all right? Hustle over If you hear anything.

We then walked to the train station.
