Chapter 92: Fishing

Clementine's POV

Me and AJ are walking with Violet and Brody to the stream to go fishing.

Brody: I wish we could all go on a road trip together.

Violet: Why bother? It's not like there's anything to see anymore.

Brody: I'm sure there's plenty of stuff to see. Maybe Clem can show us, and her group. They got a car working.

Violet: Yeah, and they crashed it.

Clementine: Maybe if the world wasn't shit, yeah. But now, no.

Brody: But there's so much to see!

Violet: Yeah, like dead people, and that's all.

We walk across a small bridge, I look at AJ. He looks like he is in deep thought.

Clementine: AJ, you okay?

AJ: I hope Y/N and Duck are doing fine hunting.

Clementine: I hope so too. But they should be, he is only hunting, and Y/N is good at that.

AJ: And Duck?

Clementine: He's good. But he's not like Y/N.

AJ: Yeah, you're right. I hope one day, I can grow up big and strong like him, also like you too.

I chuckle.

Clementine: You will.

Brody and Violet was still talking about the car.

AJ: Are we going to the car?

Clementine: Nope, it's broken.

AJ: Good. I'm sick of the car.

Brody: Clem? Where would you go if gas wasn't a issue?

Clementine: I would like to go to the beach. Me and Y/N could go swimming while watching AJ play or something. Duck would probably be doing his own thing, and the adults would probably just relax.

Brody: That would be nice, to be in the sun all the time.

Violet: And die of skin cancer. So fun.

Brody: I'll take skin caner over turning into a walker any day.

Clementine's thoughts: You would still turn into a walker by dying from skin cancer.

Violet: Let's just get to work.

We make it to the shack.

Violet: You two can go get the spears, I will wait out here.

Me, AJ, and Brody go inside to look for the spears

Brody: About Vi.... I'm sorry she's being mean. It's my fault.

Clementine: What do you mean?

Brody: I was there when those walkers killed Sophie and Minnie. They were really close to VI and I think she blames me.

Clementine: It wasn't your fault. These things happen.

Brody: I was the one who told her the news, ever since, she distanced herself. But when you guys showed up, I never seen her open up to someone. I hate to ask you but, can you talk to her? See how she feels about me?

Clementine: Sure. I can talk to her.

Brody: Thanks Clementine.

We grab the spears.

Brody: I will check out the fish traps.

We hear Violet yell outside.

Violet: What is taking you two so long?!

Brody: See?

Brody walks out. I see AJ looking at something. He is looking at a V+M inside of a heart.

AJ: What does that mean?

Clementine: Violet and Minnie I think. They were a couple.

AJ: Couple?

Clementine: Violet was Minnie's girlfriend.

AJ: Oh. Love. Like you and Y/N are a couple.

I smile.

Clementine: That's right. Ready to go fishing?

AJ: Yeah!

We go outside to fish with Violet. As we fish, Violet speaks up.

Violet: Sorry if I was weird last night. Seeing you and Y/N in that room. It was hard seeing some other people in there.

Clementine: I understand. It's never easy.

Violet: I don't hate Brody, but she is annoying sometimes. I feel guilty, I was supposed to go with her that day. But I wanted to work at the greenhouse. So Brody covered for me. I didn't even get to say goodbye. I want to tell Brody I don't blame her for what happened.

Brody shows up.

Violet: We should get going.

We got done fishing, we get our buckets and leave.
