"Man... I'm beat..." Kamakiri groaned, flopping onto the 1-A dorm couch. Apparently, Ishiyama and Maijima were updating some security stuff for Heights Alliance, so the 1-B dorm was temporary unavailable to the students. Some of the 1-B kids had gone off for some extra training, but the others had gone to the 1-A dorms instead in order to rest.
"But we are getting stronger, aren't we?" Kaminari grinned, "We'll be ready for whatever the world has to throw at us!"
The boy reached out for the television remote to check on the news, as Midoriya buried himself into his bean bag, writing down some notes. The Big Three had originally been helping 1-A and 1-B out with their training, when suddenly Nezu interrupted the training session in order to fetch Togata for Sasaki.
Midoriya wasn't too sure what that was about, but Nezu had promised that he would explain the situation to him at an appropriate time.
"I'm worried about Mirio..." Tamaki muttered, curling up in the corner of the 1-A dorms, "Mirio just talked to him a few days ago... Why does Nighteye need to talk to him now? What's going on?"
"The teachers are being very secretive..." Ashido muttered, flicking through various news articles on her phone, before she looked up, "Do you think... we're involved in something big? And the League of Villains has to do with this?"
"I thought that was a given?" Todoroki tilted his head, thinking hard, "We have noticed that it is uncharacteristic for the League to be so quiet, so clearly something is up with them... and even my father isn't willing to tell me what's going on. Even though the current villains are causing trouble, there has been a recent lull in villain activity for a while now."
"So things are getting serious... But why wouldn't the teachers tell us?" Kirishima frowned, "If it is something so big that all the villains need to prepare for... wouldn't it be better to let us know what's going on so we can be prepared too?"
"It would be better..." Yaoyorozu agreed, "Unless they aren't allowed to tell us? Perhaps there's even some things they don't know about."
Midoriya didn't voice his opinion, but he agreed with Yaoyorozu; the Hero Commission was definitely stifling the flow of information, but if they wanted to avoid a mass panic... it did make sense for them to withhold some information. But in order for a machine to work properly, all the parts have to be in top condition... and if the students were being involved somehow (Aizawa and Nezu and Yagi wouldn't be making them train so hard for no reason, after all), surely it was sensible to inform them of the specifics of the situation so they wouldn't be caught off guard?
If there was going to be a war, there's no way the Hero Commission would allow some first years to be on the front line, right? Especially since they had the most encounters with the League of Villains; they knew the quirks of the students, and with only a year of training, surely they wouldn't have enough experience for this... right?
They did know how to deal with villains... so it would make much more sense for the students to help out with the evacuation of civilians and take out villains who are just there to cause chaos, while letting the more experienced pro heroes deal with the big guns.
Or maybe the students from the other schools would take that role, since UA students did have more experience with villains and could aid the Pro Heroes?
There were just too many possibilities, too many conditions, too many factors, and Midoriya could find reasons to support every side of the argument. There was no "most likely" scenario he could think off, simply because there was too many unknowns that Midoriya was unaware of.
Surely UA wouldn't needlessly send them into danger, right? If there was one thing Midoriya was sure of, Nezu and the other teachers cared too much about their students to include them in a situation where they would get hurt. But if the Hero Commission forced their hand...
